UPDATES:

March 10th, 2017

First shipment of the season left today for Wisconsin.  Dauphin was the lucky fellow.  We have a wonderful local FedEx depot in Charlottetown, they were quite funny, said seeing the boxes come in is their first real sign of spring lol.

Both Belgrade and Hallstatt were gelded last Monday.

Looking forward to the first foal of the season; Dauphin x SPS Wonderful Dream.  Guessing late April, early May.  She is not nearly as big as she was last year carrying Hallstatt.  Please be a filly.  We are hoping in a big way to retain a filly from "Martina" for our breeding program.

There are 19 horses on the farm at the moment, what a nice number :)  They are not all ours: there are four weanlings being boarded, three horses on breeding lease, and one recipient on lend.  Our aim is to over winter about 14 for next year, we'll see how it goes.  We have reduced taking outside horses at this time to focus on our own.

Happy to announce we have filled the summer position on the farm, thank you to all that applied.

February 27th, 2017

Our two 2014 geldings: Siskel (Schwarzenegger/Weltruhm/Donnerhall) and Belfast (Bonheur/Autocrat/Warkanson).  Today is Belfast's birthday!!  New video of Siskel done this past week.

Our early bird specials on the stallions are coming to an end on March 1st.  Touch base today to book your mare in!

Our dry shipper will be heading to the states in the next couple of weeks, does anybody need some frozen shipped down?? Happy to extend our BOGO sale on Bonheur while supplies last.

February 14th, 2017

We have a Summer Position Available here at Aileron Stables.  We are looking for a quiet, independent person that has their own accommodations and transportation that is familiar with horses.

May 1st-Sepemtber 2nd (some flexibility on start and finish time)

Hours: 8:00am-1:00pm Monday to Friday and every second weekend.  Average 30 hours per week. (more hours available for the right candidate)

Responsibilities:  Mucking stalls, graining, turn out, handling mares and foals, assisting the farrier, vet, barn owners.  Helping with the collection of the stallions.

We prepare for an annual inspection at the end of the summer: show prep, moving horses, handling etc.  We don't feed treats and believe in a firm and fair approach with the horses.

Other: No smoking, no additional animals brought on farm.  We have three very friendly Dobermans.

Bonus skills: Ability to drive a truck and trailer, ability to drive a tractor.

Pay: 12.50$/hour

We welcomed two sweet fillies on New Year's day :)  On the left, Saga (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont) was our surprise foal after an embryo transfer, Leslie Melvin raised her until weaning as Lantina was on lease at that time.  On the right is Bellmora (Bonheur/Patras von Rappenhoff/Rio Grande) who was bred by Leslie.   Saga is a full-sibling to Spin Doctor and Sambucca, Leslie is expecting a 2017 model of this cross as well :)

The new year is almost here!  Take advantage of our winter pricing on Bellevue and Belfast.  These two fun characters by Bonheur will make great partners for someone.  They are sweet and in your pocket.  Belfast will be three the end of February and Bellevue will be two in June.  It is a perfect time to get them before training is invested.

Enjoy a few winter photos of some of the hooligans.

 Bellevue and Siskel.

Belgrade, Willow, and Hallstatt.

December 14th, 2016

Winter has arrived, it is a beautiful time of year.  I love the absence of bugs lol.  There are different challenges for sure (we had a power outage that lasted 6 days), but for the most part the change helps make me appreciate the seasons.

The three oldest foals have been weaned.  Wow they are big ones this year, and show so much potential for the future.  Hallstatt, Willow, and Belgrade.

Reflections:  We draw a fairly sharp line with our breeding program and decisions around the farm.  Horses for us are a way of life; but we try to make objective decisions.  With this view we ask fairly tough questions.  Will this mare ever carry a foal again?  Will this be a sport prospect?  Does this horse have the disposition that reflects our breeding goals?  The aim is to produce rideable, correct offspring that are enjoyable, talented dressage mounts.    We are looking forward to our five foals coming for 2017 with much anticipation :)

Happy Holidays to all of our breeders and buyers, we wish you all the best in the New Year!

November 23rd, 2016

Thinks are starting to get chilly over here.  We had a beautiful Fall that was unseasonably warm and sunny.

For those wondering where Siskel went, he is still here :)  We have pulled him off the market for the time being.  I am looking forward to having a young one to ride for the summer.  We had baseline x-rays done: all looks good and normal and he will be ready to start work in the spring.

November 10th, 2016

We are excited to welcome SPS Brentacia (Brentano II/Imperator/Lukas) to the farm.  (Pictured below)  This lovely 1999 16.2hh liver chestnut mare has a wonderful production history.  She has produced multiple FEI and AA horses by Londonderry, Don Frederico, Rascalino, Rotspon, and Qaro.
In-foal to Furst Nymphenburg (Florencio/De Niro) for June 2017.

We have good news for one of our weanlings, Belgrade has found a home!  More to come in the future :)

October 29th, 2016

Proud of Belgrade (Bonheur/Weltruhm/Donnerhall) he was judged to be one of the top ten Hanoverian foals for 2016.

October 19th, 2016

All the critters are doing well, and we are enjoying PEI's beautiful fall colours.  We were happy to be able to get a new roof on our mare barn in matching heron blue steel, we just love it.  We found the perfect trailer for us at Wallace McNutt trailers in NS last month, it is a livestock trailer with two big box stalls for mares and foals.

There will be a few changes coming to our stallion management.  The collection fee will be going up to 200$ CDN per collection for the 2017 season.  There will be a set season for stallion availability to allow for a bit more free time for us here on the farm (March 1st-August 10th).  Our stallion discount with be one flat fee (300$ off up until March 1st) whether for early bird, multiple mare discount, or premium mares.  No discount can be combined.  New contracts will be up on the stallions' pages within the next couple of weeks.

September 28th, 2016

Happy to announce the sale of two of our foals.  Swan Song (Schwarzenegger/World Cup IV/Matcho AA) and Steinbach (Schwarzenegger/Rohdiamont/Zandingo). Both of these foals will be heading to upper level riders.  Swan Song will be heading to Ontario with buyer Heidi Lightle and be fortunate to call home with one of our other 2016 foals, Hallstatt (Harvard/Weltruhm/Donnerhall).   Steinbach will be heading to NB with buyer Michelle DeGarie after growing up with some young ones here for a little while.   We are really lucky to have knowledgeable buyers that enjoy the breed as much as we do.

September 14th, 2016

So much news...

We had a wonderful Hanoverian inspection the end of August.  Three of the foals we bred: Belgrade (Bonheur/Weltruhm/Donnerhall), Hallstatt (Harvard/Weltruhm/Donnerhall), and Wolkentanz's Willow HB (Wolkentanz II/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) were part of the final ring.  Belgrade was awarded the champion foal award.

EM Werra produced a stunning filly by Schwarzenegger on September 11th.  We have named her Swan Song as a tribute to Werra for her last foal.  Werra is 24 years old and has been a wonderful producer and a pleasure to work with.

End of an era with one of the stallions...we made the decision to euthanize Bonheur on September 13th.  At the age of 23 he was having some difficulty with some age related issues.  We were fortunate to have had this lovely fellow stand in the Maritimes where he produced many lovely dressage prospects.

August 13th, 2016

We have new video of Steinbach and Belgrade on the youngsters sale page.

We have two new fillies joining the farm in the winter of 2016.  One is Bellmora (Bonheur/Patras V. Rappenhoff/Rio Grande) bred by Leslie Melvin of Summit Hanoverians.  The other was a bit of a surprise lol:  Lantina was carrying a sneaky embryo after having been flushed and also having been short-cycled.   This second filly is by Schwarzenegger and has been named Saga and was bred by us here.

We have enjoyed a family reunion on the island for the last two weeks, was great to see everyone and re-connect.

SPS Fenjala has had a successful embryo transfer with Schwarzenegger!!! Cassie the recipient is carrying this foal.  We are pretty excited :)))

July 9th, 2016

We are pleased to announce the birth of Steinbach (Schwarzenegger/Rohdiamont/Zandingo). He is an embryo transfer foal out of Reece H(Rohdiamont/Zandingo/Nimmedor).

June 30th, 2016

We have had success resuming collection with Bonheur, please touch base if interested in breeding to him this season.  This will be his last season at stud.

June 27th,  2016

Lots of action going on at the farm.  Breeding season is in full swing; Schwarzie, Dauphin and Bonheur have all been busy.

A beautiful mare: SPS Fenjala (Farbriano/Prince Orac xx/Absatz) has joined the broodmare band.  Fingers crossed for several embryos.

We have three mares confirmed in-foal for 2017 so far.  SPS Wonderful Dream to Dauphin, Rimini to Schwarzenegger, and Duchess Alyce to Schwarzenegger.

We welcomed a gorgeous filly by Wolkentanz II out of our lovely Esprentina NPF.   She was a custom foal for friends in the US.

Wolkentanz II/Sir Oldenberg/Florestan filly out stretching her legs!!

May 23rd, 2016

It is that time of year :)))

SPS Wonderful Dream's two foals arrived on Saturday the 21st.

Hallstatt (Harvard/Weltruhm/Donnerhall) above photo. Born at 11pm May 21st.

Belgrade (Bonheur/Weltruhm/Donnerhall) below photo. Born at noon May 21st.

April 20th, 2016

The stallions are happy the season is up and running.  Looking forward to working with the mare owners for another exciting year.

SPS Wonderful Dream and her recipient Cassie are getting close to foaling time.  Cassie is 319 days today and she is carrying the Boheur x SPS Wonderful Dream, SPS Wonderful Dream is bred to Harvard and is 303 today.  Slowly but surely.

We are planning some fun crosses for 2017, 3 of which will hopefully end up in recipients... :)

Cannot wait to open the summer pastures up, things are drying out nicely so it will be great to move horses around.  First dandelion of the year spotted, wahoo!

April 6th, 2016

I am recovered from an exciting weekend in Maine.  I drove to the border to meet our new arrivals: two Hanoverian mares and a Doberman puppy (this turned into 2 puppies lol).  Our friends Annette Folgueras and Murat Senelt breed Dobermans as well as being active horse people and they were able to haul the two mares for us.  Thank you to Leslie Melvin and Adi Stepney for helping make this weekend possible.

Joining our broodmare line-up on lease are Duchess Alyce (Dauphin/Weltmeyer/Raphael/Bolero) and Rimini (Rienzi/Davignon/Weltmeyer/Matcho AA) both owned and bred by Marefield Meadows of Virginia.  We are very fortunate to have the use of these lovely girls and look forward to seeing what they produce here.

March 22nd, 2016

Very excited to announce the sale of Sentry (Schwarzenegger/Hampton/Dauphin) to Mike and Diane Richard of Fredericton, NB.   Sentry is lucky to call home with his older half-sibling Salvador (Schwarzenegger/Certus/Welfenschatz). I am making travel plans to watch these young geldings in the ring.

March 18th, 2016

Congratulations to Capall Warmbloods on the arrival of a lovely Schwarzenegger colt out of Highland Lily on March 15th.
Happy to see the safe arrival of another Schwarzenegger foal in Florida the day before.

We are excited to announce there is a sale pending on Sentry (Schwarzenegger/Hampton/Dauphin), our big moving 2015 gelding.

Looking forward to testing out the Foalert system at our farm.  Would be nice to have another foaling indicator as well as peace of mind while they are out through the day.   We do milk testing, and have several cameras set up, but it is nice to have a backup.

Getting closer to an arrival date of some new additions from the US.... :))

March 8th, 2016

Bedeque (Bonheur/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) our 2015 Hanoverian gelding has found a home with Lisa Hubley of Pinette, PEI.
We will be happy to cheer him on in the equitation ring.

March 5th, 2016

We have some fun news on the farm:

1)  There is a sale pending on one of the young ones :)

2) There is an addition or two heading to PEI in the near future, will post more as it gets closer.

3) Foal watch is starting.

February 19th, 2016

Excited to announce the sale of Highland Lily (Hampton/Dauphin/Wonderland) and her 2016 foal to Virginia Cooke and Dr. Andrew Kielly of Capall Warmbloods. "Lily" is carrying a Schwarzenegger foal that is due mid-March, 2016. Lily has produced a beautiful colt for us, Sentry, and will hopefully produce another foal for us via embryo transfer before heading out.

January 31st, 2016

We had a great time with the yearlings yesterday.  We let them out in the "summer" pasture for a romp and boy did they have fun :)  Left a blooper on the video for a chuckle.

January 26th, 2016

Two months until Highland Lily is expected to foal (pictured below)!  Looking forward to seeing another beauty from her and Schwarzenegger, my guess is a lovely version of Sentry in female form, but we will have to wait and see.

We are participating in 3 stallion service auctions this year:  Canadian Hanoverian Society (choice breeding of Schwarzenegger, Dauphin, or Bonheur), American Hanoverian Society (choice breeding of Schwarzenegger or Dauphin), and the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (choice breeding of Schwarzenegger, Dauphin, or Bonheur).  Best of luck to all the bidders, we look forward to working with you in 2016.

January 4th, 2016

Big thank you to our friend Jackie Harlow for some photos of the stallions and some of the youngsters on the sale page.

Below: Schwarzenegger, Bonheur, and Dauphin.

January 2nd, 2016

Big congratulations to Mike and Diane Richard on their purchase of Salvador (Schwarzenegger/Certus/Welfenshatz).  Very fun to watch the bond developing so quickly, think it will be a very interesting future for Salvador in the hunter ring.   We wish them all the best!

We just returned from a quick trip to NB to drop Salvador and Lantina off, go visiting 6 homebreds, and have a wonderful get together with friends.  So much fun to see different barn ideas and see how the youngsters have developed :)

Quarantine for Dauphin finished on December 24th, was a wonderful gift to have it completed!

December 23rd, 2015:

Happy to announce Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont/Irepeat xx) is heading to NB on lease to Leslie Melvin.  Lantina was my first registered Hanoverian born on farm, and has always been a super sweet happy go lucky mare. She has produced Spin Doctor (Schwarzenegger, in NB), Reconnaissance (Rubignon, in Kentucky), and Sambucca (Schwarzenegger, in PEI).

December 22nd, 2015

A big congratulations to Lisa and Rachel on their purchase of Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid/Wendekreis). Atlanta is a 2009 HV mare we bred on the farm, she is the dam of Solara (Schwarzenegger), and Belfast (Bonheur). For those that enjoy the damlines, Wargana/Lugana/Wanda. This is so neat and I am very happy for all involved.
Photo of Lisa and Atlanta from summer 2014 during a cross-country clinic in PEI.

December 20th, 2015

We are almost finished quarantine for Dauphin, Dorina, and Kali, the last blood test for the mares is scheduled for the 21st, and then hopefully that is it :)

We have been enjoying photos and videos of some of our young ones being started this Fall: great to hear many positive comments from the owners.  Was fun to hear about Solara (Thunderbay, ON), Spin Doctor (Sussex, NB), and Reconnaissance (Waynesburg, Kentucky).  Looking forward to seeing others undersaddle in the spring.

We are ready to put 2015 in the books as another exciting and busy year on the farm.  A big thank you to our clients, colleagues, and friends for having made it memorable.  Is a team effort to raise horses: from feeding quality haylage from Pius and John Walsh, to grain from Purina Feeds (Cardigan Feed Mill), to great farriers Roddie Bennoit and Bob MacDougall, and the vets that take care of the everyday, to embryo transfer, to gelding: Dr. Mike Slana, Dr. Chris Versteeg, and Dr. Kim MacDonald.  We are fortunate to have a network of people that provide super services.  So a big THANK YOU, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

November 18th, 2015

November 10th, 2015

He is HERE! Meet Dauphin!!

Home safe and sound :)
Had a wonderful 6 day adventure with a trip to Toronto to pick up Dauphin (Donnerhall/Feiner Stern/Pik Ramiro) with good friends Ginny Cooke and Dr. Andrew Kielly. Nick and Baron held down the fort while I was away.
It was a whirlwind trip with late nights, early mornings, lots of laughs with family and friends and of course PEI Blueberry wine.  We had a chance to visit Windswept Farms, Parkwood Stables, Look Ahead Sport Horses, Manning Equine, and Green Ribbon Farms.  The young horse development clinic at Look Ahead Sporthorses was hosted by Louise Masek, and the clinician was Inga Hamilton-all I can say is we need to work on having an annual clinic in the Maritimes; very educational and you could see real progress in the youngsters.
Big thank you to all that made bringing Dauphin to Canada possible, it took a village: Dr. Ludwig Christmann being so kind as to put us in touch with Marefield Meadows (who are an absolute pleasure to work with and so kind as to lease him to us), to Dr. Alan Manning to allow us to have a two day rest stop at his beautiful facility with many happy horses, to my wonderful brother and sister-in-law who were the ultimate hosts, to super brokers/shippers/CFIA vets that put the hustle on to make this a reality, to Dr. Christine Stec/Dr. Brian Ausmann who have been great friends and hosts, and our super home vet Dr. Mike Slana who always finds time to fit us in.  We are so fortunate to have met so many thoughtful positive people through the horse world.

We will be going through the Canadian portion of Dauphin's quarantine  here on the farm and will be most happy to welcome visitors for him once it is wrapped up in early December.

We look forward to being able to offer Dauphin, Schwarzenegger, and Bonheur to mare owners in 2016.

October 26th, 2015

Getting excited!  Dauphin is due to fly into Toronto on November 5th with two geldings.

The AHS auction closes on Oct 27th.  http://online.professionalauction.com/auction.php?aucid=177

October 13th, 2015

We had our two Bonheur colts out for a trot in the ring on Thanksgiving.  They were enjoying bouncing around while the mares tried their luck at grazing under the fenceline lol.

Above: Bellevue (Bonheur/World Cup IV/Matcho AA) at 3 1/2 months old.

Below: Bedeque (Bonheur/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) at 3 months old.

October 9th, 2015

Big congratulations to Virginia Cooke and Andrew Kielly on the purchase of our yearling filly Safira (Schwarzenegger/World Cup IV/Matcho AA).  This will be a neat partnership to watch for competing and breeding.

Our brilliant in black colt Sentry, (Schwarzenegger/Hampton/Dauphin) has been weaned and is entered in the American Hanoverian Society Online Auction.  This is a very interesting dressage prospect that is going to finish around 16-16.1hh and have the engine and push to be very competitive.

Updates on Dauphin coming soon I am finishing up working on his page and will be starting a FB page in the near future.  He is set to depart Germany around Oct.25th or Nov. 6th with Klatte.  He will be doing his Canadian quarantine here at Aileron Stables.  The two test mares have had the last set of their CEM swabs taken on Oct. 8th.

September 30th, 2015

Nick and I are very excited to welcome a new addition to our stallion barn.
Dauphin (Donnerhall/Feiner Stern/Pik Ramiro) bred by Marefield Meadows, will be moving from Celle to Aileron Stables! A huge thank you to Marefield Meadows to agree to lease this typey black stallion to us. He will be available for breeding in the new year. More information to come as he goes through quarantine.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Crapaud Agriplex in PEI during the CWHBA Inspection on Saturday and the Autumn Classic Open Warmblood Show on Sunday.
Our beautiful Schwarzenegger/Donnerhall/Pik Senior Hanoverian filly Santerina had some excellent comments from the judges during the Foal Futurity class. A reminder to all that are breeding to Schwarzenegger that his offspring are eligible for the futurities regardless of registry.

On the Sunday, we had three of our yearlings out. Safira, Salvador, and Belfast. We were very impressed with their composure for their first off farm stay and show. They showed themselves well and took turns excelling in different aspects. Some exciting news, for one of them has found a new home!  More to come on that shortly.

Very proud of Bonestina (Bonheur/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) showing herself off with Leslie Nicholson and Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid) that looked super under Lisa Pfister.

A huge thank you to the organizers, Theresa Steele and Julie Fulton, as well as the sponsors for the lovely prizes, especially Omega Alpha's Sonita Bird.

I hope all the breeders get their youngsters out to these shows in the future, is a very nice way to show little guys in a friendly and safe environment.

September 12th, 2015

New video of Bedeque posted below from his inspection on August 31st.  Video footage by Amanda Stright.

We will be taking 3 yearlings: Safira, Belfast, and Salvador to the 2015 Autumn Classic Warmblood Horse Breeders Horse Show  being held at the Crapaud Agriplex on September 27th .  Spectators are most welcome and it will be a great opportunity to see warmblood horses from all around the Maritimes in one place.  Come up and say hi, look forward to seeing familiar faces and making new friends!

September 6th, 2015

We had a wonderful Hanoverian Inspection here on the farm on August 31st.  Bedeque (Bonheur/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) was the reserve champion foal.  Photos and video to come.

Video of this year's foal crop bouncing around out at pasture.  They are a riot to watch.

August 9th, 2015

We are back from a wonderful family reunion in Alaska!  Big thank you to Morgan and Leslie for taking care of the farm while we were away.  Breeding on and off farm has resumed, so let us know if you need anything.

The Hanoverian Inspection is around the corner, landing on August 31st.  We are looking forward to seeing Dr. Ludwig Christmann who will be the inspector over from Germany.

We are happy to announce that Esprentina NPF is confirmed in-foal to Wolkentanz II, and Lantina is confirmed in-foal (for a second time) to Schwarzenegger.  We now have 5 confirmed in-foal and are working hard to get the three older mares pregnant for the season: Dorina, Werra, and Reece.

New photos and video of the youngsters to come.  If there is someone that is of interest please do not hesitate to touch base and come visit.

July 8th, 2015

Two new Bonheur colts have arrived!! Video of Werra's colt Bellevue above.

EM Werra produced a big powerful chestnut colt on June 24th and Esprentina NPF had a tall lanky bay colt on July 7th.  Both are doing well!  EM Werra has been bred back to Bonheur for 2016, fingers crossed.

SPS Wonderful Dream is confirmed in-foal to Harvard for 2016.  We will have a Bonheur and a Harvard from "Martina" for 2016 :))

Bonheur and Schwarzie are having very good seasons.  Just a heads up for our breeders that we will be away July 25th-August 6th and all stallions here will be unavailable during that time.

June 20th, 2015

Cassie, the recipient, held the embryo!  SPS Wonderful Dream x Bonheur embryo doing well and now 17mm (roughly day 14).  SPS Wonderful Dream was bred to Harvard (Hohenstein/Cardinal xx) yesterday for her to carry.  Hoping for a black dot in two weeks time.

Setting Dorina (Donnerhall/Pik Senior) up for another flush, crossing fingers-we will try a total of three flushes with her this season, if an embryo is not recovered we will switch to Esprentina NPF.  We have a lovely QH mare that has joined the herd as a recipient.

EM Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA/Diskus) is 330 days today.  She is as big as a house!  She is in-foal to Bonheur and appears to be in the lead.  Esprentina NPF is 329 days with her Bonheur pregnancy.  Both big mares are doing great and I suspect we will have at least one new addition within 2 weeks.

New video of Siskel below. This lovely fellow is ready to take on the world, he just needs a dance partner :)

June 14th, 2015

New Video of Belfast and Salvador!

June 13th, 2015

Dr. Chris Versteeg of Kensington Vet Clinic recovered a Bonheur embryo from SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltruhm/Donnerhall/Cordial) the other day. Fingers crossed-it has been fresh transferred to a recipient. Big thank you to Dr. Mike Slana for all the help and advise he gives as well.  We are fortunate to have great vets.

June 9th, 2015

Lantina is confirmed in-foal to Schwarzenegger for 2016!

We will be trying for an embryo transfer on Thursday (June 11th).  We were fortunate that one recipient has really lined up, so we shall see how things go.

June 2nd, 2015

So it appears I am behind in my posts lol.

Please welcome Santerina (Schwarzenegger/Donnerhall/Pik Senior).  Beautiful black (grey??) embryo transfer filly born early May 27th.  Pictured below.  We will be retaining this filly for our breeding program.

We are nursing out our down time between foalings but it won't last for long.  EM Werra and Esprentina NPF are showing quite a few changes and I expect they will both foal before the 340 days mark.  They are both bred to Bonheur.  Will they be black or chestnut???

Preg check for Lantina to Schwarzie next week.  SPS Wonderful Dream and Dorina have both been bred to Bonheur for embryo transfer, fingers crossed!!

We have new photos of some of the youngsters coming :)

May 20th, 2015

Busy Busy!  Things are in full swing!

The lovely mare Belle has now reached the 340 day mark in her gestation.  She is carrying the Dorina x Schwarzenegger foal and we can't wait to meet it!

The yearlings are shedding out and looking pretty sharp.  It is such a blast to watch them develop and see the changes over time.  They have enjoyed several visitors stopping in to say hi and give them a scratch.  New photos and video to come soon.

Sentry is looking beautiful as ever.  He has tons of personality and is a very quick study.

We are very happy that a photo of a filly we bred, Sangria, (Schwarzenegger/My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis) made the cover of the Atlantic Horse and Pony magazine.  Photo credit to Reg Corkum.  Sangria is owned and loved by Leslie Melvin of Hartland, NB.

We will be activating Bonheur with the CWHBA for 2015.

We are really excited that a very special mare has joined us on a breeding lease for 2015.  More information to come shortly:)

We are working towards setting two flushes up in the coming weeks.  We plan to flush SPS Wonderful Dream and Dorina to Bonheur.   We would hope for typey dressage prospects with big movement and good minds from these crosses.

First show of the season is around the corner.  Lantina and Morgan (our 2015 working student) will be attending the DPEI show being held at the Crapaud Agriplex June 6th and 7th.

We are happy to see the grass growing and to be able to start to use the back paddocks.

May 2nd, 2015

Wahoo! Highland Lily (Hampton/Dauphin/Wonderland) is confirmed back in-foal to Schwarzenegger for 2016!! We love Sentry so much we decided to make another right away.  Lol so much for waiting until the 4th to check.  Lantina has been bred to Schwarzie as well-will do a preg check in 14 days.

We are looking forward to meeting the much anticipated foal coming this month.  It is an embryo transfer out of Dorina (Donnerhall/Pik Senior/Don Carlos) and by Schwarzenegger.  The recipient mare, Belle, looks good and is slowly making changes getting ready.

April 21st, 2015

Video of Sentry!  He is a riot and boy can he move.  First preg check expected on May 4th, for Highland Lily to Schwarzenegger :))

April 16th, 2015

So impressed with Sentry we have decided to breed Lily back to Schwarzie this season rather than wait.  We were planning to breed to Benetton Dream, but it will be postponed for the time being.  We would love another Sentry only in female form :)

Sentry (Schwarzenegger/Hampton/Dauphin) 2015 Hanoverian colt born this morning at 1:30am. This guy is stunning!

March 31st, 2015

Nick and I just returned from the American Hanoverian Society Breeder's Seminar, it was hosted at Hilltop farms in Maryland, USA and included stops at High Point Hanoverians, and Select Breeder's Services.  Big thank you to the organizers, the hosts, the lecturers and participants that made this a very enjoyable and memorable experience.  The Hanoverian lectures were given by Dr. Ludwig Christmann from the German Hanoverian Verband, he is a wealth of knowledge and experience.  He was very kind to take the time to look into Dorina's mareline for us, was very interesting to see the Drosselklang stallions and many more successful sport horses in both dressage and jumping descend from this line.

March 12th, 2015

Spin Doctor was picked up today and arrived safely in NB, we wish him and Matthew all the best in the future!

Highland Lily is slowly starting to show signs of getting close to the end of her pregnancy.  She is the first mare due to foal and will be 340 days on April 15th.

Bonheur and Schwarzenegger celebrated their birthdays on March 2nd.  Bo turned 22 and Schwarzie 18.  Happy birthday guys and hoping for many more years to come.

We have a full season ahead of us and we look forward to four foals, doing a few embryo transfers, and aiming for 6-7 foals for 2016.  We are happy to welcome several mares coming in for breeding for the season, and wish nothing more than great fertility and health to all our breeding clients!

February 26th, 2015

Atlanta will be leaving on a breeding lease for the 2015/2016 season.  She will be showing and competing in New Brunswick, Canada for 2015, and will return to the farm in Fall, 2016 and be available for sale at that time.  Congratulations to New Orford Acres on the lease and we look forward to seeing the resulting foal in 2016.

Anyone that is interested in Atlanta, please email me and I will set up a contact list for Fall 2016.  hanselpacker@hotmail.com

February 24th, 2015

We have decided to keep Lantina for breeding, we have thoroughly enjoyed her undersaddle and her foals have all inherited her wonderful temperament and fun personality.   We are planning to breed her back to Schwarzenegger this spring, for a 2016 foal.

Congratulations on the three winners of the stallion service auction breedings for Schwarzenegger, we look forward to working with you.

February 15th, 2015

Congratulations to Matthew Straight and family on their purchase of Spin Doctor. "Spin" is our first Schwarzenegger offspring and is out of my personal mare Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont/Irepeat xx). This handsome gelding will have a great opportunity to show off his dual-purpose ability in an eventing home.

We have filled the working student position for the summer, a big thank you to all that applied, we were very impressed with the interest and strength in the resumes.  Many talented riders in the Maritimes.

February 13th 2015

Happy to announce that CWHBA stallion FPH Maxwelton will be standing at Aileron Stables for the season.  This handsome stallion is owned by Julie Fulton of Fulton Performance Horses.  Look for more information on his page.  Photo by Amanda Straight.

January 30th, 2015

We have a logo!  Big thank you to Revolution Media for making this logo with Schwarzenegger in it and also to Nick, this was my Christmas gift :)

What a great time to shop in Canada, the current exchange rate is at 79 cents on the dollar.  Ie a 1,500 CDN breeding is 1180 USD.  Or a foal at 10,500 CDN is 8245 USD.

We have Schwarzenegger entered in a couple of online stallion service auctions to help fund raise for the breed clubs, make sure to look him up.  The first is the CHS auction,
http://www.canadianhanoverians.com/2015-annual-chs-stallion-auction/

Schwarzenegger is on the Top List for jumper producers for the German Hanoverian Verband for 2015 with a jumping breeding index of 122.
He is tied for third place on that list for dressage producing with a 103. This is his 4th year on the list, so happy for him and for his breeders the Windelers!

January 9th, 2015

Siskel was just gelded today and seems to be getting along well.  All the weanlings are well-adjusted and ready to head to their new homes.  We have three geldings and one filly.  The next crop of foals will start arriving in April with Highland Lily (Hampton/Dauphin) expecting a Schwarzenegger pregnancy.

Nick and I are heading to Maryland, USA for the AHS Breeders Seminar the end of March.  http://hanoverian.org/breeders-seminar/
Schwarzenegger will not be available for collection from March 24th-31st, 2015 while we are away.

December 30th, 2014

This is a video done by the Windelers (Schwarzenegger's breeders), it shows the strength of a strong damline.
SPS Caprice is the dam of SPS Lady Larissa, who is the dam of SPS First Lady, who is the dam of SPS Royal Lady.  There are over 10 approved stallions from this line (one being Schwarzenegger, who is out of SPS Caprice).

With the vital role of good mares in any breeding program, it is important to remember the contribution they make to the resulting foal.  It is more than conformation and movement; the mind is so important and is something that is passed along especially as the foal is nurtured from its dam.  Are they willing to work??? Pretty is as pretty does, there has to be more than that.  Strong damlines that have proven themselves through performance or performance of their offspring are the backbone of any breeding farm.   Be selective and make decisions that will produce foals that are willing and hold up to all the work that is to come.  Hats off to the Windelers in keeping the best for breeding, not an easy thing to do.

December 22nd, 2014

Working Student position available for summer 2015:

Please send application to hanselpacker@hotmail.com  We will be processing applications in January and getting back to all candidates.

December 8th, 2014

Video of Siskel (Schwarzenegger/Weltruhm/Donnerhall) at 5 months of age bouncing around in the snow.  This guy is a character and puts a smile on my face every time I work with him.

December 7th, 2014

New video of Belfast (Bonheur/Autocrat/Warkanson) this handsome fellow is ready to head to a new home.  Weaned, gelded, and up to date on dewormings, vaccines, and trimmings.  He will make a lovely dressage or hunter partner.

December 1st, 2014

Looks like Selkirk (Schwarzenegger/Diamond Hit/Romancero H) has found a great home!   He will be heading to Maryland, USA in the New Year!

November 10th, 2014

Early Bird Discounts are now posted on Schwarzenegger's page.  We will be activating him with Hanoverian Verband, American Hanoverian Society, Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders, and Canadian Sport Horse.

Bonheur will only be activated with the Hanoverian Verband, unless we have interest in other registries.

October 28th, 2014

Brrr, it is definitely starting to feel like winter!

We did not get what we were looking for with Atlanta in the AHS auction, so did not sell her.  Her price has been reduced to help find the perfect fit before winter.  The best fit for her would be a small adult amateur that is a confident intermediate rider.

October 24th, 2014

New Video of Selkirk (Schwarzenegger/Diamond Hit/Romancero H)

October 23rd, 2014

Atlanta is entered in the American Hanoverian Society online auction that is running Oct 21st-27th.  Anyone looking for a very dual-purpose mare, this is for you!  http://online.professionalauction.com/auction.php?aucid=139

We hauled MSB Diamond Days and MSB Cindy to Little River, Nova Scotia for Shannon and Clayton Brooks the other day.  Daisy was with us for two years on a breeding lease and produced a very nice colt by Schwarzenegger.  Cindy has been with us for a year and goes to Shannon on a breeding lease with possibility of purchase.  They seem very content at their beautiful new home and I wish Shannon the best of luck with her breeding operation.

It appears Dorina has lost her Bonheur pregnancy sometime in the last month.  Quite unfortunate but we will plan to try another flush with her in the spring.  We still have her Schwarzenegger embryo transfer thank goodness.  So we will have four foals for next year.

We have a sale pending on one of the foals, very happy to have a home like this for one of our little ones.

Winsloe (Wolkentanz II/Sir Oldenburg) and Svenja (Schwarzenegger/Weltruhm) will head to their new homes in November.  Very happy with the homes they are heading to as well, we are very lucky to have great buyers.

October 14th, 2014

New video of Salvador:  http://youtu.be/5DRXUS1WaSQ

Price increase for the youngsters coming in the New Year.  So touch base, and come visit-we would love to introduce you to all of the horses before the winter hits.

Had a great time going through the FN database, so much useful information.  Will be slowly building to the background of all of the horses.  For example: SPS Wonderful Dream has three full-siblings (Weltruhm/Donnerhall), one of which is a stallion showing at S class dressage. Or that Dorina's damline has produced some amazing jumpers. Or that Schwarzenegger's dam, SPS Caprice, has 10 offspring that have competed-of those 1 showed S class dressage, and 3 showed S class jumpers.

October 7th, 2014

Things have slowed down enough that I have had time to ride!  Great fun to hit the trails with friends.  We are fortunate to have super boarders that are great company.

We will be moving all the horses up from the back pasture soon, the grass is just about done for the season.  What a difference having the extra pasture this year.  Has been a blast watching the riding horses stretch their legs.

Several foals will be ready to move to new homes soon.  Belfast, Salvador, Selkirk, and Safira.  These four are all so different, it is fun to get to know their personalities.

October 1st, 2014

Belfast (Bonheur/Autocrat) and Salvador (Schwarzenegger/Certus) have now been gelded.  We are going to start the next phase of weaning soon.  Salvador, Selkirk, and Safira are due to be weaned.

New video of Atlanta is available. http://youtu.be/ksIpJiY1gA4

What a wonderful day for a Hanoverian inspection on PEI!  Look for new photos throughout the site from photographer Reg Corkum.
First off have to say a huge thank you to all of our friends that volunteered to make the weekend a success. It took a small army and the help was greatly appreciated!

The Mare Performance Test winner was Danika (Diamond Hit/Weltmeyer) owned by Paulette Jones and bred by Kareen Heineking-Schütte.

The champion mare of the mare show was Diamond Days (Diamond Hit/Romancero H) owned by Shannon Brooks and bred by Kathleen Richardson.

The champion jumper foal was an embryo transfer colt named Sambuca (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig) owned by Jennifer and Chris Versteeg and bred by Aileron Stables.

The final ring for dressage foals included the lovely filly Surprise (Sir Gregory/Donnerschlag) bred and owned by Doug and Carol Macomber, the super sweet Svenja (Schwarzenegger/Weltruhm) bred by Aileron Stables and owned by Kimberly Pennie and the handsome champion foal Winsloe (Wolkentanz II/Sir Oldenburg) bred by Aileron Stables and owned by Annette MacQuarrie.

Thank you to our judges Inga Hamilton and Ursula Hosking. Was a very informative weekend and we enjoyed your company.

The foals are growing like bad weeds and we are seeing more and more of their personalities.  They are such characters and it is a blast to spend time with them.

We have a sale pending on Winsloe (Wolkentanz II/Sir Oldenburg), fingers crossed this would be a great home and we would be excited to see him have every opportunity to reach his full potential.

Summer has wrapped up with our working student Lisa, she was a HUGE help and we have to extend a very big thank you for all of her efforts.   From riding and competing, to foal watch, to collecting stallions, to inseminating mares, to foal handling and training she was invaluable for the summer and we hope she enjoyed her stay.

We are preparing for the Maritime Hanoverian Inspection which will be held at our farm on September 21st, 2014.  It looks like we will have a great show with 10-12 foals, 3 mares doing the mare performance test, and several mares in the mare show.  Visitors are welcome.

August 13th, 2014

Four confirmed pregnancies so far, and hopefully two more to come.

1) Highland Lily (Hampton/Dauphin/Wonderland) to Schwarzenegger due April 2015

2) Dorina (Donnerhall/Pik Senior/Don Carlos) to Schwarzenegger due May 2015 via embryo transfer

3) EM Werra (World Cup IV/ Matcho AA) to Bonheur due July 2015

4) Esprentina NPF (Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) to Bonheur due July 2015

We had a great outing with Atlanta at an eventing clinic with David Wilding-Davies on Aug 2nd/3rd.  Was a great learning experience and a lot of fun to watch.  Atlanta will be heading to the DPEI show on August 23rd with Lisa for the last show of the season before she heads back to school in NB.

July 30th, 2014

We have an exciting sale to announce!  From August 1st-10th we will be paying the taxes on any purchases.  This includes fresh and frozen breedings as well as horse sales.

We have a few openings for incoming mares from now until mid-September.  Please email me if interested to reserve your spot!

Our farm will be the Maritime site of inspection for the Canadian Hanoverian Society.  It will be Sunday, September 21st.  We look forward to seeing you here :)

July 25th, 2014

Lily is coming along in her backing undersaddle, this filly can move!  I look forward to seeing what she can do, wowsers.

Dorina has been bred to Schwarzenegger, Martina to Finest, and Werra rebred to Bonheur.  Esprentina NPF will be bred to Bonheur tomorrow.

Exciting news:  Esprentina NPF is now owned by Aileron Stables.  Big thank you to Ken Mellish for selling her to us and we look forward to many foals to come.

We are off to the Jump PEI show tomorrow at Strathgarthany with Lantina.  Come up and say hi if you see us :)

July 21st, 2014

Super happy to see the arrival of Sambucca (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont) for the Versteegs.  This is an embryo transfer that we worked together to flush from Lantina.  He looks like a lovely colt and is a full sibling to Spin Doctor.

Unfortunate news for our last foal born, a filly by Schwarzenegger out of Czaftig (Contucci/World Cup IV).  She passed away at 24 hours old after what looked like an intestinal event.  RIP Sonata.

Breeding carries on:  Martina is scheduled to be bred to Finest, Esprentina NPF to Bonheur, and Dorina back to Schwarzenegger.

July 17th, 2014

Pleased to announce the arrival of Svenja and Siskel.  These are two full-siblings by Schwarzenegger and out of SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltruhm/Donnerhall/Cordial).  Siskel is an embryo transfer foal that Dr. Versteeg transferred into the recipient mare Bridget last summer.  Will be fun to watch these two develop.  They are beauties.

Lisa is off to a Jump PEI show next weekend with Lantina, is great fun to watch these two compete.

July 1st, 2014

Happy Canada Day!!

We are loving the new pasture, the mares and foals are out overnight in it and are having a blast.

Off to a DPEI show this coming weekend with Lantina and Atlanta.  Have enjoyed watching their progress in training with Lisa, they definitely have good minds and a good work ethic :)

We had a promising preg check with EM Werra to Bonheur, fingers crossed.  This should be a lovely cross, Werra has produced two super Schwarzenegger foals for us, and I imagine a Bonheur baby would be just as nice.

Last but not least Dr. Versteeg recovered a Schwarzenegger embryo from our Donnerhall  mare Dorina!  Yay!  It was succesfully transferred to a recipient and was still present at the 15 day check.  Here is to hoping :)  We plan to breed Dorina to carry a foal naturally for the season as well.  We will try once with the stallion Rassolini, if no luck we will try again with Schwarzenegger.

June 19th, 2014

The W colt now has a name, Winsloe!  He is a lovely big fellow and boy can he move!

Lisa is off to the PEI Hunter Jumper show this weekend in Crapaud with Atlanta and Lantina.  Looking forward to seeing them go.

Foal watch continues, we have 3 mares left to foal out.  The embryo recipient Bridget, carrying a SPS Wonderful Dream x Schwarzenegger is the first one up, then SPS Wonderful Dream herself with a Schwarzenegger and lastly, MSB Czaftig with her Schwarzenegger foal.

June 15th, 2014

Can you tell things have been busy??
Lisa had two great outings with Lantina, one at the Jump PEI show May 31st, and again at the DPEI show June 7th/8th.

We have had two new foals arrive:

1) Safira (Schwarzenegger/World Cup IV/Matcho AA) a beautiful filly with so much presence.  She is bay with a strip and a hind sock. Born June 1st.

2) Un-named W baby (Wolkentanz II/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) a strapping chestnut colt with 3 high stockings and a unique blaze.  Born June 14th.

Our oldest foal Belfast (Bonheur/Autocrat/Warkanson) has now been weaned and is doing great.  His dam Atlanta is going to be joining the show group.

We have bred EM Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA) on her foal heat to Bonheur.  Fingers crossed.

We have a flush scheduled for Dorina next weekend from a breeding to Schwarzenegger.  Fingers crossed for an embryo!

May 27th, 2014

Very sorry to announce the loss of my Mom, Mary, she was always a driving force that instilled a forward attitude and I will miss her greatly.  To all our family and friends that wished condolences and helped out-a big thank you!  Your kindness was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Highland Lily (Hampton/Dauphin) is confirmed in-foal to Schwarzenegger for 2015.  Looking forward to seeing this big moving filly having a foal of her own.

MSB Cindy had a typey bay colt on May 20th by Schwarzenegger, we have named him Salvador.  He is a big fellow with a beautiful  topline and very good basic gaits.   Our wonderful working student Lisa foaled Cindy out while we were out of province and did a great job.

May 10th, 2014

Diamond Days produced a very handsome colt on May 7th, 2014 by Schwarzenegger.  "Selkirk" is lovely and uphill with a super sweet personality.  He shows very nice gaits and will be a definite dressage prospect for the young horse classes.

April 27th, 2014

More lovely Bonheur and Schwarzenegger foals have hit the ground.  So happy for their owners!

Back on foal watch at the farm.  Diamond Days (Diamond Hit/Romancero H/Wenzel) is now at 320 days and is looking close.   Cindy (Certus/Welfenschatz/Gigant) is at day 328 and slowly but surely making progress.  They are both carrying Schwarzenegger foals.

April 7th, 2014

Nick, and I and our friend Lisa just returned from the Hanoverian breeders club of Eastern Canada AGM in Ottawa.  What a great experience!  So nice to meet fellow breeders and to tour several farms, we had a blast!!  Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!

We are happy to see three lovely Schwarzenegger foals have arrived so far this season.  Two colts and a filly: 1 in FL, 1 in NB, and 1 in BC.  Congratulations to the breeders, I am looking forward to watching them grow and to cheer you on.

Our next two mares to foal are being switched over to night stalling to start monitoring them as they get close.  One is Diamond Days (Diamond Hit/Romancero H) that is in-foal to Schwarzenegger and the other is Cindy (Certus/Welfenschatz) who is also in-foal to Schwarzenegger.  I am really really excited for all the foals to be on the ground!

We have a working student lined up for the 2014 season, looking forward to having her join the farm and show all of our young horses.  Thank you to all that enquired.

March 21st, 2014

Two lovely Schwarzenegger mares with their foals.

1) Swiss Tessin (Schwarzenegger/Landclassic) with her 6 hour old filly by Christ (Competent).  Congratulations Toreky Andrea of Hungary.

2. Shiwa (Schwarzenegger/Donnerhall/Woermann) and her lovely colt that was selected and sold at the Swedish Elite Foal Auction.  Video below.  Shiwa herself was sold through an Elite Foal auction in Hannover.

March 17th, 2014

Thank you to all the breeders that have inquired about bringing mares in for breeding, or foaling. We are now full for the season but are happy to recommend either of our vets' farms.

For any new contracts we will now be charging a collection fee for Schwarzenegger of 125$/collection.  With my injury we are having to get outside help for the collections.

We dropped Servos (Schwarzenegger/World Cup IV) off to his new Mom, Heather, in Milford.  Such a great home for this sweet fellow.

Belfast is going to make someone very happy, so outgoing and such a flashy mover.  He is filling out and growing like a bad weed.  Photo by Leslie Melvin.

March 3rd, 2014

Belfast and his dam Atlanta enjoyed a romp in the snow yesterday.  This fun fellow is going to be very interesting.  From what we can see so far, he is very balanced and has incredible agility.  Photo by Leslie Melvin.

The winner of the discounted birthday breeding is Echo Ridge Stables from PEI, Congratulations!!

February 28th, 2014

Our Bonheur foal has arrived!  Last night at 10:40 pm, was great fun as several friends were over watching the cameras with us and were able to see him arrive :)  Lovely bay colt with a star and one hind sock, named "Belfast".

February 7th, 2014

I had an unfortunate accident playing badminton and tore my right Achilles tendon last week.  Inconvenient, but well on the way to healing.  Looks like we know who will be watching the foaling cameras for a few weeks.

We made the trip to New Hampshire earlier this week to pick up our new addition to the herd, a beautiful PSG Hanoverian mare (pictured below).  "Dorina" has proven herself both in the dressage ring and the breeding shed with many successful offspring.  This is a powerful mare with the sweetest disposition and incredible presence.   Her pedigree is phenomenal, Donnerhall/Pik Senior/Don Carlos/Frustra II.  We have big plans for her this season and hope to do a couple of embryo transfers with Schwarzenegger, Bonheur, Royal Classic, Rassolini... We are very lucky to have her, a big thank you to Tailwind Farms in Texas, USA for making this possible.

Anyone remember this beautiful filly?  Solara (Schwarzenegger/Autocrat/Warkanson) 2012 filly we bred that sold to a dressage home in Thunderbay, ON (pictured below at 18 months).  She is well loved and doing great.  Her dam MSB Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid) is approaching her due date of late February carrying a Bonheur foal.  I am very excited to meet her little one.

January 15th, 2014

Congratulations to Heather Van Agten on her purchase of Servos (Schwarzenegger/World Cup IV/Matcho AA). He has been purchased as a GP dressage prospect and we are excited to see him in such a super training situation.

January 8th, 2014

Late Christmas gift for Aileron Stables...very happy to see our stallion Schwarzenegger (Sion/Calypso II/Graphit) is on the "Topliste Springen" again for 2014. This is his third year on the list of top jumper producers for the Hanoverian breed. What a dual-purpose fellow!
Schwarzenegger is one of two stallions standing in NA on the list. Big congratulations to his breeders Axel and Martina Windeler! Nick Graham and I look forward to many years to come with this wonderful stallion and his lovely offspring.

December 30th, 2013

We are happy to announce we will be adding more stallions to the frozen semen roster from Gestut W.M. including the recent licensing champion Finest (Furstenball/Wie Weltmeyer/Prince Thatch xx). More information to come in the next week but looking at a February order deadline for a March shipment.

I love to watch the progress of relatives of our horses.  The most recent examples are:

EMC Bella Luna (Belissimo M/Weltruhm/Donnerhall) a 2010 Hanoverian mare bred by Christine Stec, and now owned by Parkwood Hanoverians.  This super three year old won her MPT and shows much promise for the future http://youtu.be/qG6yptgC_Fs

"Lula" is out of SPS Wonderful Dream who is in-foal to Schwarzenegger as well as a full sibling via embryo transfer.

Vin Diesel (Valentino/Dauphin/Wonderland) bred by Rick and Marjorie Haus and owned by Parkwood Hanoverians.  He is a handsome 2013 Hanoverian colt that was awarded champion dressage foal at the Parkwood Hanoverian Inspection. http://youtu.be/o_YhJdi1fI8

Vin Diesel is a half-sibling to our mare Highland Lily (Hampton/Dauphin/Wonderland) who will be bred to Schwarzenegger in 2014.  Here is a video of Highland Lily's dam Dauhlia. http://youtu.be/UHw64RlKOb4

All the mares are home from being out to pasture.  Big thank you to Anita Rooney for letting us take them to her super farm.

The broodmares are certainly looking the part, fuzzy coats and big baby bellies, not hard to love them.

The two 2014 colts, Reco and Servos, have adapted well to weaned life and are ready to head onto their next home.  Don't miss out on the opportunity to own one of these stunning colts.  The sky is the limit with their wonderful personalities, and dynamic movement.

October 30th, 2013

Newest addition to the farm is a New Holland TT60A.  So much fun!

October 24th, 2013

Yay for Bonheur! He is the damsire of this beautiful colt that was just licensed at the 2013 Hanoverian Licensing in Germany.

Sir Donnerhall/Bonheur/Weltmeyer 2011 colt.

October 19th, 2013

Exciting to see Bonheur as a Dam Sire of two young mares in the upcoming elite Hanoverian auction in Verden, Germany.  One 4 year filly is out of MSB Baroness and the other is out of SPS Ballerina, these two Bonheur mares are full sisters.  Check out their two daughters,  #43 and #75 http://212.114.39.29/app/_view/index2.htm?country=uk&auktion=592&tab=HANNOVERANER_november_09112013

Bonheur will be standing through live cover to a select number of mares for 2014.  Our first foal of the season is a Bonheur out of MSB Atlanta due early March.  Please contact us early to reserve your spot.

October 18th, 2013

We love to hear updates on the horses we have sold.  A couple of weeks ago I had a chance to visit two youngsters I had raised; Round Robin (Rotspon/Don Gregory/Brentano II) and Wargana (Warkanson/Lucid/Wendekreis).

Here is a video of Robin with his owner Marlene Synder (light coloured shirt) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsfaa4sODBI&feature=youtu.be  I loved seeing how happy he was in both his work and and in his lifestyle.  I miss this big fellow, truly a very special colt.

In stopping to see Wargana in Moncton, NB, it wasn't hard to find her stall lol.  She as well looked fantastic and the Taylors have done a wonderful job with her.  We have Wargana's only daughter here on the farm, Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid) and see a stamped similarity.  New video of Atlanta has been added to her page.

October 16th, 2013

I accompanied Leslie Melvin to the CWHBA inspection in Port Williams, NS over the weekend of Oct 4-6th.  She presented Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid) and Sangria by Schwarzenegger for inspection.  They did fantastic!  Marina had an overall score of 8.0, which gave her Premium status.  Sangria strutted her stuff and scored an impressive 8.2 and received the $500 futurity cheque.  Pictured: On left Leslie Melvin with Marina and on right Sangria and I.  Photo by Shannon Steele.

Nick and I hauled Bonestina (Bonheur/Sir Oldenburg) over to Leslie's place in NB over the Thanksgiving weekend.  She settled in quickly and is now turned out with former pasture mate Sangria.  The weanling colts are quite missing her bouncy presence but she is in the best of hands.

New video of the two colts has been posted on the for sale page.

October 2nd, 2013

I think this will go down as the busiest year for us so far.  We had a super inspection followed by a great turnout to Open Farm Day.  We have been playing catch up here at the farm with projects that need to be done before Winter arrives.  One of the biggest is planning 4 new foaling stalls for next season.  We have eight mares confirmed in-foal for 2014. YAY!

We will be looking for a keen working student or two for next season from roughly April 25th-August 25th.  More to come...

Name the foal contest winners: Siskel (Katherine Abrey) and Safira (Ledgerwood Family).  Thank you for the super names and look forward to introducing you to the 2014 foal crop :)

We have new video of Spin Doctor, Atlanta, Lantina, and Schwarzenegger to go up soon.  Here is Schwarzenegger at liberty this week.  http://youtu.be/hxVVa2YT5Z0

September 12th, 2013

Had a super Hanoverian inspection on the 10th at the Crapaud Agriplex.  Was a great day!  More to come soon...

Happy to announce the sale of Bonestina (Bonheur/Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) to Leslie Melvin of Hartland, NB.  This is just the best home, and Bonnie will be joining pasture mates Marina and Sangria.  Bonnie will stay until shortly after weaning in October after which we will be making the trip over with her.

We are participating in Open Farm Day again this year.  It is on Sunday, September 15th from 10am-4pm.  All visitors welcome, we look forward to seeing you here.

September 3rd, 2013

Super happy to announce that SPS Wonderful Dream is confirmed in-foal to Schwarzenegger!  That makes 2 full siblings coming for 2014 with the embryo transfer :)  One is pre-sold and other may be for me.

We also had a successfull recovery of a Bonheur embryo out of Lantina.  This embryo was frozen and it will be transfered into a recipient in 2014 for a 2015 foaling.  Fingers crossed it works out.  Big thanks to Dr. Chris Versteeg that did all of our embryo flushing (Recovered 3 embryos from 4 flushes: 2 were transfered (and have confirmed heartbeats) and the last was frozen.)  For mare owners interested in trying some embryo work with your mares, feel free to touch base and I will happily put you in touch with Dr. Versteeg.

Big thanks also to Dr. Mike Slana who does all our regular ultrasounds, he has helped us manage both our mares and client mares in for breeding.  He does a great job and offers haul in service for managing your mare.

Getting ready for the Hanoverian inspection on the 10th of September at Crapaud Agriplex.  All are welcome to come watch.  The show will start at 8:30am and likely end around 4pm.  Hope to see you there!

August 27th, 2013

New video of the colts.  Big thanks to Amanda Stright for videoing for us.

Had a super outing with two of the young mares at the DPEI Discovery show last weekend.  Was a little crazy busy with Nick being away, but was glad to be able to make it there.  I took the 5 year old Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont) leaving her foal at home (she is the best mare), and the 4 year old Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson).  I rode the mares as non-competes for their first show and was pleased how things went.  Glad we took the time to teach the mares to load by themselves lol.

August 21st, 2013

Neat colt by Christ out of a Schwarzenegger daughter in Germany http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiVgdqp8fHs

Super happy to see both embryos have held on, our Schwarzenegger x SPS Wonderful Dream and the Versteeg's Schwarzenegger x MSB Lantina.  Considering trying to freeze an embryo as well...a Bonheur x Lantina cross.  Always something fun here at the farm :) So far 6 confirmed in-foal and 2 left to preg check.

Mares are coming along well undersaddle to prepare for the mare performance test in September.  Tried Lantina over fences, my goodness she can jump lol.  Will take me a bit to get back into it, but was all good fun.

August 10th, 2013

YAY!  A Schwarzie embryo was recovered from Lantina and is now in a recipient.  These embryo transfers were good fun and a big thanks to Dr. Chris Versteeg.  After quite a bit of debate, I have decided I am going to keep my first homebred, Lantina, she is just a fabulous mare to have around and undersaddle, not to mention being my buddy.

Having the best summer, lots of breedings for the stallions, super foals, four young mares undersaddle, and now getting ready for the Hanoverian Inspection (Sept 10th) and Open Farm Day (Sept 15th).

Name the foal contest winners:  Kaitlyn and Emma Legerwood with Marina and Sangria.  We enjoyed a fun BBQ on the farm in July, thanks so much for the super name!  Marina and Sangria have arrived safely in Hartland, NB with their new owner Leslie Melvin :)

August 5th, 2013

Hopefully two more pregnancies for Schwarzie and then our mares are done for the season.  SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltruhm/Donnerhall) to be bred this week and a preg check on MSB Czaftig (Contucci/World Cup IV/Matcho AA) next Sunday.

So nice to have my main girl back undersaddle, MSB Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont), this mare has a heart of gold and is as willing as they come.  After having given us two super sweet colts, I am going to keep her open (not bred) for riding.

Planning to make it out to a DPEI discovery show with MSB Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson) on August 24th. This smart cookie is one athletic little ride, so much fun.

Lucky to have wonderful horsey friends that help me around the farm, and with the young horses. Thanks all!

August 2nd, 2013

Excited to say we had our first successful embryo transfer done on the farm today by Dr. Chris Versteeg.  Was so neat!  Was a Schwarzenegger x SPS Wonderful Dream embryo and it was transfered into a recipient.  Fingers crossed everything goes well.  We are set for a transfer on MSB Lantina next week.  This is so much fun :)

July 28th, 2013

Things have been very busy on the farm.   Nick and I are enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon :)

Two more pregnancies confirmed for 2014, Esprentina NPF to Wolkentanz II and EM Werra to Schwarzenegger.

SPS Wonderful Dream and MSB Czaftig have both been bred to Schwarzenegger this week, so fingers crossed for more black dots.   So far we have 6 confirmed in-foal, though Marina will be heading out soon, so 5.  Hoping for 7-8 foals for next year, will be a busy year.

Our new pasture is planted and growing, so hopefully it will be ready for spring 2014.

We are getting ready for the Hanoverian inspection September 10th at Crapaud Agriplex.  We will be taking quite a few horses, spectators welcome.  Anyone interested in taking a mare for inspection feel free to touch base, at hanselpacker@hotmail.com the entry deadline is August 19th.

Our foals are growing well and look super, very happy with them.  MSB Lantina has returned to undersaddle work, so nice to have her back.  I am going to leave her open with the plan to ride and enjoy her :)  That is all the news for now.

July 15th, 2013

New videos of the 2013 foals! These 3 are all for sale, please check the sales page for more information.

 July 9th, 2013

Congratulations to Leslie Melvin of Hartland, NB on her purchase of Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis).  Leslie will be taking Marina and Sangria home in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to see the Bonheur foal coming for 2014.  I am very happy with these matches.

July 3rd, 2013

So nice to have internet back at the house, I have been living off of my phone for the last 2 weeks.

So the two colts; Reco and Servos, are growing like bad weeds.  It is really nice to have two fillies and two colts where they tend to play so differently.  Reco has the most unique coat, it looks like he will be a true midnight black with some striping.  Servos is a big boy, at only 2 weeks old he has caught Bonestina (6 weeks old) in size.

Sangria is shedding out a beautiful dark bay colour and her chrome is really standing out.  Bonnie has been nicknamed "Bonnie the Brave" from a friend of ours after seeing how adventurous she is.  Great fun watching the foals grow and play.

We have four pregnancies confirmed for 2014 so far:

MSB Atlanta to Bonheur due March, 2014;  Marina to Bonheur due May, 2014 ;MSB Cindy to Schwarzenegger due May, 2014 ;  Diamond Days to Schwarzenegger due May, 2014.

EM Werra was bred back to Schwarzenegger last week on her foal heat, so fingers crossed.  Upcoming is Esprentina NPF to Wolkentanz II (hopefully this week), SPS Wonderful Dream to Schwarzenegger, and lastly the Contucci mare to ???

June 20th, 2013

Busy busy!!

Two new arrivals.

Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont) had a gorgeous black colt on June 17th at 4:48am.  He is named Reconnaissance, "Reco" for short.  By the GP dressage stallion Rubignon (Rubinstein I/Donnerhall).

Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA) had a stunning picture perfect black beauty of a colt on June 18th at 5:08am.  His name is Son of a Schwarzenegger and "Servos" for around the barn.  He is by Schwarzenegger.

These two colts will be registered Hanoverian and will be for sale.

We had a new mare join the broodmare band.  MSB Czaftig (Contucci/World Cup IV/Matcho AA),  I plan to breed her to Schwarzenegger in the next two weeks.

June 6th, 2013

Very sad to announce the loss of a beautiful Schwarzenegger colt out of SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltruhm/Donnerhall). Thankfully she is ok. Breeding is a tough business that is for sure. Big thanks go out to great friends and a super vet for all the help.

June 2nd, 2013

Another confirmed Bonheur foal for 2014.  Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis) is due for May 3rd, 2014.  This should be another wow dressage foal, and will be available for sale.

Esprentina NPF was bred to Bonheur last week and Cindy and Diamond Days are being bred to Schwarzie this week, so fingers crossed for some black dots in a couple of weeks.

We are waiting for SPS Wonderful Dream aka Martina to deliver her Schwarzenegger foal.  This foal has been sold in-utero and will head to a home in Truro, NS.  EM Werra is slowly making progress with her Schwarzenegger foal.  Lantina is enjoying being out to pasture, but is due to foal this month as well.

Heard great news from a couple of breeders, two new Schwarzenegger foals have hit the ground, a lovely dark bay filly with 3 socks and a star out of a SPS Prince Thatch mare in Virginia, and a sweet dark bay colt with two socks and a star and snip out of a super JBP Accord II/Grannus mare (competed in the Bundeschampionat in jumpers in Germany, and showed at Spruce Meadows), this colt was born in Alberta.  So excited to see all these lovely youngsters, and Schwarzie is well on his way for next year with a super pregnancy rate.

Sangria and Bonestina are starting to play together, so funny, I could spend the majority of my day foal watching.

May 27th, 2013

As we enjoy several Schwarzenegger foals who are athletic, personable, and have super basic gaits, we stopped to think-wouldn't it be nice to see more of these foals across the country?  Well we would like to make that happen.  So...

The Goal: We would like to see a Schwarzenegger foal in every province and state in the next three years.

How: The first mare booked out of each province/state will receive a $400 dollar discount off of a regular contract! So instead of 1,500$ it will be 1,100!! As usual, no collection fees and we are able to ship overnight to most locations.

Check the page called "The Goal" for more information and to see if your area is available.

May 20th, 2013

Big day!  Sangria (Schwarzenegger/My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid) has sold to a lovely dressage rider from NB named Leslie Melvin.  Congratulations!  This is a super super filly!  I look forward to Sangria growing up with Leslie, it will be a great match.

Esprentina NPF had a beautiful chestnut filly by Bonheur at 12:30 am.  She looks like she will be an amazing dressage prospect.

May 13th, 2013

Who wants to see a lovely dressage pair?

Take a look at Benefactor RRS (Bonheur/Rubinstein I) owned and bred by Melinda Walton
and T. Larry Smith of Rose Ridge Sporthorses. Ridden by Silva Martin of Cochranville, Pa. Silva and "Benny" won the Markel 5-Year-Old Test at White Fences in Wellington, Florida with a score of 82.8%!

May 4th, 2013

Esprentina NPF is slowly getting closer to foaling time, she makes a bit more udder every day.  She is now 344 days bred to Bonheur.  This should be a WOW dressage foal.

Solara arrived in Thunderbay safely, so glad to hear good things from her new owner Bonnie.

Congratulations to Erin MacQuarrie on her second Schwarzenegger colt this spring.  Meet "Iron Maiden" aka Eddie, he will be registered KWPN. Pictured here at a week old.

April 28th, 2013

Photo of Sangria, she is so friendly, going to make a lovely partner

.

April 26th, 2013

Solara started her journey to Thunderbay this morning.  Will miss her but very content knowing she is going to a great home.

Diamond Days (Daisy) was inseminated with Benetton Dream this morning, fingers crossed.

Sangria is growing like a weed and is super balanced with a lovely uphill canter.  Her trot shows quite a bit of knee and hock action, she will be one expressive mover.  Not seeing much of the walk at this point, she has such a joie de vivre her feet are not on the ground for long.

Esprentina NPF is now at day 336 with her pregnancy to Bonheur, she has some udder development but is still quite firm around the tailhead, so I am getting a bit of sleep.

We must put out a big THANK YOU to all of our friends that have helped along the way; whether through advice, photos, a referral, or foal watch, your help is greatly appreciated.  It takes so many spokes to make a farm turn, from a good vet to a great haylage supplier, to nice neighbors etc..Thank you to everybody :)

April 22nd, 2013

Our first foal of the season has arrived!  A stunning filly by Schwarzenegger out of Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis).  She is bay with a star, connecting stripe, and a big snip.  She also has three unique socks.  With our name the foal contest, this filly's name was picked in advance and is Sangria.

April  21st, 2013

First Schwarzenegger foal to arrive for 2013!! Stompin (Schwarzenegger x Honey) A lovely bay colt with a star, a snip, and two socks.  Bred and owned by Erin MacQuarrie's of NB.  Congratulations!

New video of Spin Doctor (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont) http://youtu.be/axwSsGFRvtg
This is such an awesome prospect!

April 12th, 2013

Happy to report Schwarzie has his first confirmed pregnancy of the season to a lovely mare in Florida.

Our new camera system just arrived, please work, please work.  Looks a bit confusing but I will reread the instructions and get started.

Solara (Schwarzenegger/Autocrat/Warkanson) will be leaving April 26th to start her trip up to Thunderbay, ON.  For those looking for a lovely, friendly dual-purpose prospect, take a look at Spin Doctor (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont), no doubt he will be missing his sister.

Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid) is so close to foaling, but no foal yet, she is now at 337 days with a Schwarznegger foal.

Gallod Bang On Time

Lovely Section D Welsh Stallion standing at stud at Aileron Stables.

We are very happy to be able to offer this stallion to the public.  He has a phenomenal mind that he is known to pass on.  Please see our stallion page for more information.

April 6th, 2013

First confirmed pregnancy at the farm!  Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid) is confirmed in-foal to Bonheur (Brentano II/Roncalli xx).  Atlanta is the dam of the lovely Schwarzenegger filly Solara.  This should be another beauty and it will be early, ~March 1st, 2014.

Things have been busy busy with breeding having started with a bang, not that the boys are complaining :)

Congratulations to Sandra of Manitoba on winning the CWHBA stallion service auction to Schwarzenegger, we look forward to working with you.

Working around the farm with the youngsters, Spin Doctor and Solara had a lesson in trailering.  They were both superstars.

No luck with the first camera system we tried out, our place is not wireless friendly lol.  Waiting for the next system to come in, this one is through Ebay, with 4 cameras and can be hardwired and is compatible with our iphones. So fingers crossed.

Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid) was acting strange yesterday so we are keeping an eye on her as she is due to foal.  Wandering off to the far corner of her field to lay down by herself.  Will keep you all posted.

There is a new addition to the client stallion lineup.  More information to come, this is one really neat fellow.

March 25th, 2013

Schwarzenegger and Bonheur are happy to see the breeding season arrive over the last couple of weeks. Here is to super foals for 2014!  Still seven days left to take advantage of our sale.

Our broodmares are making lots of great changes in the right direction, the most being Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid). She is now at 316 days in-foal to Schwarzenegger and has only a few more weeks to go.
The next in line is Esprentina NPF (Sir Oldenburg/Florestan), she is at 303 days in-foal to Bonheur. She barely looks like she is in-foal but she is a big maiden mare and is carrying high.
The last three we are expecting are 1) SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltruhm/Donnerhall) at 262 days in-foal to Schwarzenegger. (This foal has been sold in-utero) 2) EM Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA) at 259 days in-foal to Schwarzenegger and lastly 3) MSB Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont) at 246 days in-foal to Rubignon.

Plans for the Hanoverian Inspection on PEI in September are moving along. I can't wait!

March 17th, 2013

We are happy to announce that Bonheur is available for live cover to a small book of mares this season.  Where he is now twenty we would really like to see him used more.   So with this is mind his stud fee has been reduced from 1,500$ to 1,000$.  We look forward to hearing from you, hanselpacker@hotmail.com

Spin Doctor (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont) is now a gelding.  Everything went well and was very efficient.   This will make pasture planning a little easier this spring as I plan to put him out with a 2 year old filly and an older mare.

Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid) has been put back under saddle and has not forgotten a thing since having had a year off to have a foal.  What a good mind.  I hope to take her to a couple of shows this year to give her some experience before participating in the mare performance test in September.

I am enjoying working with Diamond Days (Diamond Hit/Romancero H/Wenzel) owned by Shannon Brooks.  Daisy has a great mind and is progressing well.  She is now lunging undersaddle and doing super with leaning on either side.

March 6th, 2013

Congratulations to Sonja of Ontario on winning the CHS stallion service auction to Schwarzenegger.  Sonja has a Schwarzenegger foal coming for 2013 out of her lovely mare.

Lots of scheming going on at the farm, we have been researching new foaling cameras that we can hardwire to the house.  Looks like we may have found what we were looking for through Radio Shack, I will post back here to let you all know how it has worked out.

As promised, we had an announcement of a new addition.  Meet Cindy (Certus/Welfenschatz/Gigant/Senator) this is a lovely 15 year old MSB Hanoverian mare bred by Ernst Ihrig of Ontario.  Cindy has had 6 foals; 3 by Viva Voltaire, 2 by Wolkenglanz and 1 by Don Frederico.  She is known for producing her super good nature and talented dressage offspring.  We are planning to breed Cindy to Bonheur or Schwarzenegger for a 2014 foal.

February 28th, 2013

Congratulations to Andréanne of Quebec on winning the AHS stallion service auction to Schwarzenegger.  We look forward to working with you!

Counting down the days...the mares are getting bigger and bigger.  They occasionally give me something to worry about but overall are having uneventful pregnancies.

February 11th, 2013

Esprentina NPF (Sir Oldenburg/Florestan/Phonix) in-foal to Bonheur (Brentano II/Roncalli xx) due April 25th and Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis) in-foal to Schwarzenegger (Sion/Calypso II) due April 11th. These are the first two due to foal and we are so excited to meet their little ones! My guess is Marina has a dk bay colt with lots of white and that Tina has a chestnut colt with 4 stockings and a blaze.  We shall see soon enough.

All the horses were enjoying the fresh snow jumping around and rolling after our big storm.  Only damage we had was the wind snapped one of the hangers on a door to the stallion barn, leaving it hanging and swinging in the wind.  Luckily the other hanger held through the rest of the storm and we got it fixed while it was still vertical.  The door is 12 x 8 feet and weighs around 300lbs, not the one you want to put back up.

Nick and I went out for a hack today with Ruby and Lantina, was a blast! Strange feeling dragging your toes through the drifts.  The mares loved it.  The neat feeling like you are bobbing in deep water at the trot, both Nick and I were riding bareback with our snowsuits, was good fun.

I kicked myself for having a couple of paddocks away from the barn with the deep snow today.  Didn't take long to solve though, tied the lead line into a set of reins, hopped on a haylage bale and rode out of the barn on Bonheur, winter blanket and all :)

February 2nd, 2013

Congratulations to Tracy from BC on having the winning bid for a breeding to Schwarzenegger through the Leg Up Association Auction.  We look forward to working with you!

Not too late for savings, there are coupons for discounted breedings to Schwarzenegger that will be available at the Charlottetown Greenhawk on February 20th.

The weanlings are growing up fast, both Solara and Spin Doctor are turning into little adults.  They are up to date on vaccines, dewormings, trimming, and are very keen for adventure.  With little walks around the farm and lots of one on one time they are confident and independent.  So much fun, hard to imagine the next crop of foals start arriving in ~9 weeks.

For those that would like to come visit to see the horses, please feel free to stop in.  We love having horse visitors that enjoy them as much as we do.

January 21st, 2013

Breeding season is definitely right around the corner.  We are excited to hear from so many nice mare owners.

I love that the days are getting longer, yes, it might be -20 windchills for the rest of the week, BUT once we hit December 21st the days start to stretch out and spring is on its way with the big baby bumps, yeah!

New addition coming to Aileron Stables...we will post more once she arrives.  This will be a very unique pedigree that I am looking foward to adding to the herd.

January 10th, 2013

Out and about for our first sleigh with Ruby http://youtu.be/oKJITNv31is Was soooo much fun.  She is a super keener.

January 7th, 2013

2013 WOW! Time is flying.  Hope everybody had a wonderful holiday season.  Ours was merry and bright and included lots of time spent outside in the snow :)

We were very excited and pleased to see Schwarzenegger on the top list of jumper producers for the Hanoverians.  This is the second year in a row, what is also exciting is he is 1 of only 2 stallions in North America on the list and also has the third highest dressage value of the jumper list.  Yeah Schwarzie, talk about dual purpose!

Looking to save some money on breeding? We can offer 3 different ways to save breeding to Schwarzenegger.

1) Get your contract in and paid for by February 1st and save $100.

2) Breeding multiple mares or interested in buying 2 contracts?  Save $200 per contract.

3) Have a premium or performance mare you are interested in breeding? Save $300 off of your contract.

The foals were enjoying bouncing around after a new snowfall, http://youtu.be/IOatG9xnPZQ

December 18th, 2012

Weaned Solara and Spin Doctor this morning. So far so good, they were not too upset. Their Moms were quite funny, they called for a few minutes then had a eureka moment realising they were free to play with their old friends. Moms and babies are now munching away with two paddocks in between. Both sides were ready. Solara will be heading to Thunderbay in April to join her new owner and Spin ... is patiently waiting for someone to come and fall in love with him.

The countdown is on for the new foals, (where did the time go???) so lots of shuffling around today. Marina and Esprentina NPF are due to foal in April so they were pulled out of the group and now share a paddock and runin.

Any guesses for fillies or colts for these two? Marina is in-foal to Schwarzenegger and Esprentina NPF is in-foal to Bonheur.

The other three mares are due to foal in June. SPS Wonderful Dream x Schwarzenegger, EM Werra x Schwarzenegger, and Rubignon x MSB Lantina.  I can't wait!

December 15th, 2012

We did not meet the minimum number of doses to bring in a shipment of frozen semen from Germany this year.  We have many boys in-stock and invite you to look them over.

December 5th, 2012

A sale did not work out and the 3 1/2 year old mare Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis) who is in-foal to Schwarzenegger is back on the market.  She is due to foal in early April and I expect this foal to be a WOW.  Marina is sound and sweet and lightly started.   Also back on the market is Esprentina NPF's Bonheur foal with a colt option only.  This should be a powerhouse of a dressage horse and is the only Bonheur foal coming for 2013.  Please contact for more information.  This is a second chance for all of those that were interested.

If you are thinking of breeding with frozen, our German order is due December 15th.  Since we are so busy with the stallions and coming foals this will be the only order for the year.

The foals are getting big!  We are planning to wean Solara and Spin Doctor together on January 1st.  Solara will be heading to join her new owner in Thunderbay in April.

November 12th, 2012

Exciting news for the farm.  The lovely mare "Diamond Days" has joined the farm on a broodmare lease for 2013.  Daisy is by Diamond Hit and out of a very strong dam line of Romancero/Wenzel.  Daisy is owned by Shannon and Clayton Brooks, in which a big thank you is due.  Daisy was bred by Kathleen Richardson.

We have big plans for this mare and are crossing our fingers for a filly to retain for our breeding program.  Right now the top list of stallion choices for 2013 for her are Fabuleux, Hofrat, and Schwarzenegger.

November 8th, 2012

The frozen semen order deadline has been extended to December 15th.   We plan to do just the one order for next season so make sure your wishlist is filled.

October 31st, 2012

Congratulations to Bonnie Zabirka on the purchase of Solara (Schwarzenegger/Autocrat/Warkanson).  Solara will be moving to a wonderful home in Ontario.  We wish you both all the best and can't wait to see how she matures.  Definitely a cross to repeat in the future, this is a lovely moving, friendly, correct filly with soooo much presence.

October 25th, 2012

Had a super day on the farm with our two homebred mares being accepted into the Hanoverian breeding program.  Our Autocrat mare presented really well showing her elastic trot.  We look forward to next year where both these mares will do a mare performance test.  Both foals were super to be branded.  So nice to have a great inspector that is willing to take the time to go through everything and break it all down.  Thank you Inga Hamilton!

Thanks also go out to Regula Strehler of Dandelion Farms, your help was greatly appreciated.

October 20th, 2012

Busy busy on the farm, only so much time before the snow flies so the projects are on warp gear.  Working on a large run-in for the mares (16 x 36) and two more foaling stalls with dutch doors to the outside.  I can't wait to have 5 foals jumping around next season, so excited!  The most we have had at one time is 2, so this will be a big jump for us.

Both Solara and Spin Doctor are doing great.  They are now between 2 1/2 -3 months of age and we are planning to wean in December.  The Hanoverian inspector Inga Hamilton will be flying down to brand these two on October 25th.  They will be registered with the German Hanoverian Verband, be DNA tested and branded on their left flank with the "H" brand.

October 10th, 2012

Early booking discounts available to Schwarzenegger.

November 1st = $300 off = 1,200

December 1st = $200 off = 1,300

January 1st = $100 off = 1,400

***Changes to Schwarzenegger's breeding contract, will no longer be offering a money back guarantee.  The LFG guarantee will now be fulfilled by the ability to transfer it to another mare or sold.

Planning for a frozen semen shipment for November 30th from Germany.  Please get your orders in by November 1st so we have time to prepare import permits and logistics.  Take the risk out of using frozen by our fresh semen back-up which comes with the sale of any of the frozen semen.

Mares are looking very preggo, I can't believe how fast this year went by, have already reached the 5 month mark for two of the girls.  First one due is Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid/Wendekreis) who is bred to Schwarzenegger.  Marina is sold to a buyer in NS, but is having one foal for us before she leaves.  The second one due is Esprentina NPF (Sir Oldenburg/Florestan/Phonix) who is bred to Bonheur.  This foal has been sold to the same buyer as Marina.  Hoping for an early spring with these April due dates.

September 29th, 2012

Enjoying a bit of rain today on the farm, had a chance to snap a few photos of the foals as they bounced around.

Solara (Schwarzenegger/Autocrat/Warkanson) 7 week old filly with a sweet nature and beautifully put together.

Had to laugh, Spin Doctor (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont) had to go out of his way to jump over the dog's ball.  Meanwhile our boxer is having a heart attack every time he gets close to it, but she is a little too scared of the foals to go out and rescue her beloved ball.

September 25th, 2012

Nick and I had a chance to go through the "S" name suggestions for 2 of the Schwarzenegger foals of 2013.   The winning names are:  for a filly:  Sangria and for a colt: Son of a Schwarzenegger (SOS).  The winning entries will be invited out for a BBQ and photos with the foals next summer and be featured on our website.  Congratulations to Sean Ledgerwood and Karen Gillis for these super names.  There were over 200 hundred suggestions with many honorable mentions such as Severus, Symphony, and Sandstrom.

September 23rd, 2012

The frozen semen price list is now available on our frozen semen page.   We may have a couple of stallions left to be posted but this is likely the end list for the season.  We are planning to do a shipment this fall so please get your orders in early.

September 16th, 2012

Had a great day with Open Farm Day, huge thanks to Amanda and Jonathan Stright for their help and super foresight-was a busy day with ~300 people. Thank you all for the lovely smiles-so nice to meet new friends and see familiar faces.

Working on a large spreadsheet for our frozen semen list which will be posted in the next day or so.  Time to start thinking about breeding for 2013 so please browse through our pages.  We are planning on getting an order in this Fall with advance order only.

Two lovely Schwarzenegger foals for sale, these two will be branded in October and ready to move onto their new homes around Christmas.

September 9th, 2012

All the mares have been brought home from pasture, they look sleek, happy, and pregnant.  We are getting ready for open farm day, maps and descriptions are available at all Sobey stores.   This will be an opportunity to meet all the horses and find out more about what we do on a Hanoverian breeding farm and stallion station.  Look forward to seeing you here Sunday, Sept. 16th.

September 3rd, 2012

Adding more stallions to the frozen semen roster from the stallion stations Bockmann and Schockemoehle.

and http://www.schockemoehle.com/en/service-station-stud/breeding-stallions-2012/ (Totilas, Clinton II, Hotline, Furstenball, Balou du Rouet...)

September 1st, 2012

After much thought over the last year about selling frozen semen and how tough it is on breeders when they invest the money and are unsuccessful, we have decided to add another option.  Any frozen semen purchase through us will come with a contract that if you do not get a pregnancy, you can credit your purchase towards a cooled semen contract with our approved Hanoverian stallion Schwarzenegger.  A collection fee of 200$ will be required.

Foal Tally:

It looks like the final tally for the year may be 5 foals in 2013.  We were hoping for 6 with the Atlanta x Bonheur cross but on ultrasound she is nowhere near a heat but we can't find an embryo.  (Will recheck just to be sure)  But since it is late in the year we will leave her open and continue her training undersaddle to prepare for the mare performance test next fall.

The list for 2013 looks like this:

1) Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid) x Schwarzenegger due mid-April

2) Esprentina NPF (Sir Oldenburg/Florestan) x Bonheur due late April

3) SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltruhm/Donnerhall) x Schwarzenegger due early June

4) EM Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA) x Schwarzenegger due mid-June

5) Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont) x Rubignon due late June

August 28th, 2012

New video of the foals has been put together.  Solara looks like a promising dressage prospect, and Spin looks like a super eventing/jumper hopeful.  So neat to see the differences in the two foals.

Spin Doctor: http://youtu.be/qPmCP2b5L94

Solara: http://youtu.be/BzKQtA3NsGQ

August 18th, 2012

I have already started planning the crosses for 2014, fun fun.  If there is a particular cross you would be interested in, this is a good time to touch base.

We will have two less mares breeding next year as Marina will be joining her new owner Fall 2013, and Lantina will take a break from the breeding shed to go in the ring.  She is so much fun that she needs to be out and about as well.   I like the young mares to have a foal or two and than continue on undersaddle.

I am looking forward to Highland Lily going into the breeding program in 2014, with her movement I would love to see what she and Schwarzenegger produce down the road.

August 15th, 2012

We have to say a big congratulations to the buyer of SPS Wonderful Dream's in-utero Schwarzenegger foal.  This will be a foal to watch.

Atlanta was bred to Bonheur on August 10th-13th, so fingers crossed for another impressive dressage foal.  WOW-her Schwarzenegger filly is such a mover and shaker.  This will be a cross we will repeat at some point.

August 8th, 2012

Finally after much work, our outdoor ring is almost complete, we have put up a white 3 post and rail fence on a 75 x 150 sand ring.  So nice to see the mares and foals strut their stuff out there.  Last couple touches to come but a great/safe working space to enjoy.

Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont) is a very good girl and is confirmed in-foal to GP Dressage stallion Rubignon (Rubinstein/Donnerhall/Pik Solo) for June 2013.

Atlanta is scheduled to be bred on her foal heat, likely this coming Saturday, so to whom??? Bonheur, Benetton Dream, Schwarzenegger?  So many options, if you have a preference please contact us shortly.

We confirmed fetal heart beats on both EM Werra and SPS Wonderful Dream to Schwarzenegger, these should be some stellar foals.

I am finding it so exciting to look out at the young horses and the upcoming foals and think of all the possibilities they present.   Will you be a top jumper prospect, will you be the next big thing in the dressage ring, will you be a cornerstone for a breeding program?  Breeding has many ups and downs, but the ups usually outweigh the downs and there is nothing more rewarding than foal watching and raising young horses.   If only I could keep them all......If you are looking for a super partner, let us know, if we don't have what you are looking for maybe we know of something that may work.  We love match making horses to people to ensure a super fit.

August 2nd, 2012

Welcome to Solara!  Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson/Lucid/Wendekreis) foaled a LOVELY Schwarzenegger filly this morning at 10:30am.  She is superb and looks like she will be a mover and shaker.

July 23rd, 2012

Spin Doctor (Schwarzenegger/Landkonig/Diamont) at 9 days old. This big fellow is sooooo friendly, with a powerful uphill canter.  He is also for sale.

July 22nd, 2012

Busy Busy, SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltrum/Donnerhall) and EM Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA) are confirmed in-foal for June 2013 to Schwarzenegger, Hurrah!  So far 4 for 4, 3 first cycle and 1 2nd cycle breedings.

Lantina was inseminated at 1:30am this morning to the GP Dressage stallion Rubignon (Rubinstein/Donnerhall/Pik Solo).  This was a foal heat breeding, so please fertility gods be nice.  A lot of effort went into this breeding and many thanks are due.  Edgar and Susan Schutte (stallion owners), Catia Gorman (persistent customs adversary), Shane Prest (running a leg of the race and GPS), and Westjet Cargo for being amazing.  With Fedex our location takes around 56 hours for a USA delivery, ugh!  This time, fedex to Toronto airport and flight to Halifax.  I had a 7 1/2 hour round trip including 350kms, a 75 minute ferry ride, and a 13km bridge, BUT mare was inseminated on a Sunday with 29 hour old semen.  So fingers crossed.

Our super Schwarzenegger colt "Spin Doctor" is proving to be quite the character and boy are we happy with him.  He has a nice strong back, great topline, and the canter is super.  He can sit and hold it showing the tremendous hindquater strength that Schwarzie has as well.  Personality wise, very friendly and outgoing.  Not too much phases him and it is a good thing that Lantina is the super MOM, as he is into everything and wants to meet the dogs, other horses, fence etc

Atlanta is big and uncomfortable and we are waiting patiently for her to foal.  At this point she is very soft around the tail head, but her udder is mostly still edema.

July 15th, 2012

Congratulations to Brooklyn and Patti of Saint John, NB on their win of the Schwarzenegger free breeding donated to the Dressage PEI Summer Gold show.  We look forward to working with you :)

July 14th, 2012

Lantina foaled a lovely big bay colt by Schwarzenegger at 8:10pm, he is correct and sweet with a super snip.  I expect this fellow will be big.  His name is "Spin Doctor".   Photos to follow shortly.

July 8th, 2012

Both SPS Wonderful Dream and EM Werra have been inseminated to Schwarzenegger this week for June 2013 foals.

Lantina and Atlanta are getting close to their due dates of August 2nd and 20th. We plan to breed them on their foal heats to Rubignon and Wolkentanz II for July 2013 foals. Pictured below at 9 months in-foal (Lantina-bay, Atlanta-black/brown).  Photo: Amanda Coggins.

Schwarzenegger will be on the grounds so people can meet him, we look forward to seeing you there :)

June 17th, 2012

The mares arrived safe and sound, they look great and we are happy how they have settled in.  Our timing was off by a day, both mares had recently ovulated, however, nice to see what looks to have been normal cycling.   There will hopefully be several foals for 2013 (6 if all goes well).

June 10th, 2012

Esprentina NPF is confirmed in-foal to Bonheur for a May 2013 foal, YEAH!!  This foal has been sold to a Nova Scotia home :)

June 9th, 2012

We are excited to announce who will be traveling down with Lily from Ontario.  Two lovely black Hanoverian broodmares!  One is EM Werra (World Cup IV/Matcho AA/Diskus) and the other is SPS Wonderful Dream (Weltrum/SPS Donnerhall/SPS Cordial).  If you have a certain cross you would like to see, please contact us shortly, we plan to breed these girls on the first good cycle.  A big thank you goes out to Dr. Christine Stec and Dr. Brian Ausman for making this possible.

June 6th, 2012,

Stoneman LP by Schwarzenegger-Antaeus qualified for the 6 year old jumping Bundeschampionat.  The rider is Holger Hecht and the breeder is Wilhelm Harling from Sottrum.  Good job all, and way to go Schwarzie!

June 3rd, 2012

Enjoyed taking in a lovely Dressage PEI show, super job to all involved. There will be another prize on the list this year for the July 14-15th gold show, we have donated a breeding to the approved Hanoverian stallion Schwarzenegger (Sion/Calypso II/Graphit), particulars to be determined but can be followed at http://www.dressagepei.com All the regular fun can be followed here or on Facebook under Aileron Stables.

For those that know what the word "scheming" means...it usually means I am up to something.  We have two lovely broodmares in the works to travel down with Highland Lily.   More information and photos to come in the next 2 weeks.

Our two girls Lantina and Atlanta are getting big and slowing down, their due dates are coming up.  Can't wait to meet these two foals.

May 28th, 2012

Some exciting news for the farm...looks like the lovely filly I have been coveting for the last year will be making a trip to PEI.  HIGHLAND LILY (Hampton/Dauphin/Wonderland) bred by Rick and Marjorie Haus of Walnut Hill Farm in ON.  I fell in love with her sire Hampton last Winter while working at Hengststation Jens Meyer, where he stands for the Leatherdales.  Super sweet horse, that was king of the barn, with so much power.  Nice stallion + nice mare  = nice filly :)  The dam Dauhlia is no slouch herself and has the fabulous temperment of Dauphin.  Thank you Marjorie-I am already planning her breeding career lol.

Possibly some other good news...will update soon.

May 23rd, 2012

Marina was just checked in-foal to Schwarzenegger!  This foal is available in-utero.  I can't wait to see how this foal moves, so excited, I think this will be a superstar.  Good boy Schwarzie, 3 for 3 so far.

May 22nd, 2012

We have been very fortunate to have really nice farming neighbors; they have been super to let us pasture our mares in the summer on their fields.  Our nearest neighbor was willing to subdivide a big field and let us buy 13 acres adjacent to our farm.

Heard back from the first 2 breedings for Schwarzie this season, both checked in-foal, great to hear :)

We bred Esprentina NPF to Bonheur; this should be a very flashy cross with lots of power.  This foal has been sold to Kaitlin from NS.

May 5th, 2012

Yeah, first real heat of the season for Marina, so we bred her AI to Schwarzenegger, fingers crossed, I think this will be a lovely, talented foal, that will be available in-utero.

For those thinking "I would like to breed my mare but am not set up or close enough to a repro vet..."  Our vet is located 10 minutes from our farm and has package deals available for mares coming in for breeding.  His name is Dr. Mike Slana and his number is 902-969-7019.

April 25th, 2012

We are working with PAYPAL, and should be able to take payments by next week to make things a bit more convenient for our buyers.

All of the horses are enjoying the early spring grass and breeding season has definitely started :) We are waiting "patiently" for Esprentina NPF and Marina to shed out and cycle regularly so we can breed them to Bonheur and Schwarzenegger respectively (likely another 4 weeks). The two pregnant mares: Lantina and Atlanta are looking good and plump and their later foaling date has turned into a blessing in disguise. I can get a bit more sleep and focus on the cooled and frozen semen shipments without making umpteen trips to the barn at night.

Lots of projects on the go: from building a new stall in the stallion barn, to planking the outdoor ring, to fencing new pasture, and my least favorite-painting lol. What a great life to live on a farm.

We love having visitors, please don't hesitate to drop us a line and come visit. We would love to introduce you to all of the horses!

A photo of Lantina jumping last week.

April 13th, 2012

Congratulations to Kaitlin from Nova Scotia on her purchase of Marina, and Esprentina NPF's 2013 in-utero foal by Bonheur.  Marina will be staying on farm until her 2013 foal by Schwarzenegger is weaned (which will be for sale).  This is a great arrangement and we are very happy for Kaitlin. (Marina pictured below).

April 9th, 2012

New addition to Aileron Stables: RUBY! A lovely Percheron mare for Nick to enjoy on the trails and use around the farm.  Just a super girl that makes our Hanoverians look little (she is 17.2hh+ and weighs 2000lbs lol)  A big Thank You to Eileen Yeker for letting us try this wonderful girl.

Meet Balaraj! (Bonheur/Ansas(Argentan)) owned and bred by Northern Hill Stable (Crystal and Zoey Hill), born Feb. 25th, 2012

March 27th, 2012

Check out this super fellow: Bon Voyage (Bonheur/Rousseau) bred and owned by Alyssa and Patrick Tompkins, born March 24th, 2012.

March 25th, 2012

Newest addition to the farm is a lovely boxer named Lola.  She has fit right in and is cute as a button.

Marina is being a great girl undersaddle and is making lots of progress.  Lantina showed us some super movement the other day, WOW.  We took some measurements on Lantina (16.1hh at the withers, and 16.2 1/2hh at the rump-still growing) and Esprentina NPF (17hh).

Breeding plans for the year...we are planning to breed Esprentina NPF to Bonheur for an early 2013 foal, Lantina to Schwarzenegger, and Atlanta to Wolkentanz II.  Still early but that is the plan for now.

March 8th, 2012

Had some frozen semen made from Schwarzie and Bonheur, for those interested it will be available at 500$ per breeding dose (9-8 straws respectively).  A frozen semen purchase can be credited towards a fresh semen LFG contract as a back-up.

March 1st, 2012

Just heard back from UC Davis re genetic colour testing on Schwarzenegger and Atlanta. Neither one can produce chestnut. Schwarzie is A/a E/E.

February 24th, 2012

Super evening with the young mares, first time undersaddle for the two 3 year olds (Marina and Atlanta)and a great hack with the four year old (Lantina) through the fields. Our Doberman thought this was the best idea of the week, finally a running buddy that has more gears :)

Many more photos throughout our site, enjoy!

February 21st, 2012

Congratulations to CHS stallion service auction winner Sonja! Looking forward to working with you.

Have heard back from the CSHA, both boys have been accepted, planning to activate them in March.

Our frozen semen arrived safe and sound from Germany.  All stallions are in-stock.  Thank you Megan for your help :)

Working towards getting some frozen semen made at the Atlantic Vet College for Schwarzie and Bonheur in the near future.

February  18th, 2012

Congratulations to the successful AHS and CWHBA Stallion Service Auction winners.  The Canadian Hanoverian Stallion Service Auction will be wrapping up tomorrow, http://www.canadianhanoverians.com/chs-stallion-auction-preview/ there are many quality stallions available at a discounted rate.

DNA samples from Schwarzenegger and Atlanta have been sent down to UC Davis for colour testing.  We suspect Schwarzie and Atlanta are  not red carriers (cannot produce chestnuts).

February 7th, 2012

Just heard back from CWHBA, Scharzenegger and Bonheur were both accepted for breeding.  Still waiting on CSHA.

The boys were enjoying the mild weather, soft snow, and blankets off for a bit this afternoon.  They were up and down and jumping around it, was a sight that would bring a smile to any face.

February 2nd, 2012

The mares were enjoying the fresh snow and decided to pose for a rather symmetrical photo.  From Left to Right:  Lantina (Landkonig/Diamont), Marina (My Imperial Slew xx/Lucid), Atlanta (Autocrat/Warkanson), and Esprentina NPF (Sir Oldenburg/Florestan).

While working on paperwork I thought I had made a mistake on the stallions dates of birth, but apparently not.  Both Schwarzie and Bonheur were born on March 2nd.  Some other fun facts-Bonheur had a dressage bred value of 140pts (top 5% of German sires) before Sharon Garner imported him in 2005, he also did his performance testing in good company, with Don Davignon, World of Dreams, Don Bosco, Carismo, and De Niro.  Bonheur had the 4th highest dressage score out of 50 stallions, below only Schow Men, De Niro and Carismo.

January 28th, 2012

So far so good for Winter weather but no doubts February and March will be a little trickier.

The horses have enjoyed their regular suppy of carrots-we are very fortunate to have access to a vegtable growers co-op where you can buy 1 ton (TON!) of cull carrots (too skinny, too fat, crooked etc) for 20$.  It is located in Sherwood, PEI for anyone interested. For off-island visiters-bring your truck, it is a great treat to take home for your horses and a super value savings.

Atlanta and Marina (2009 mares) are proving to be very trainable-both are working super in the double lunge (thank you to Hanke Ostermann for teaching me how).

Now is a quiet time of  year at the farm but the Pro/Con list for breeding crosses is all consuming.

Only a few days left for the discounted breeding fees, February 1st postmarked submissions will be accepted.

The AHS stallion auction is well underway and the CHS SSA is scheduled to begin Feb 3rd.  All the best to the bidders!

January 6th, 2012

Just received the new Hanoverian Yearbook, and to our surprise Schwarzenegger has made the top list of jumper producers in all of Germany!!!  Fantastic!

Spoke with the KWPN about Bonheur and Schwarzenegger, any of their foals out of KWPN mares are eligible for KWPN-NA registry "A" papers.  We are currently working on CWHBA and CSH breeding approval.

I am enjoying Northern Quebec at the moment, visiting family and looking forward to some horse farm visits.

The deadline is fast approaching for the discounted breeding fee...

December 26th, 2011

Happy Holidays to all of our family and friends, it has been a very exciting year for the farm with a fantastic Winter at Jens Meyer's Stallion station, the addition of Schwarzenegger  (purchase, import and quarantine of on our farm), the sale of Round Robin and Free Verse Alleluia, the Cindy Ishoy and Ingrid Klimke clinics with Schwarzie, the addition of Bonheur, and now the addition of Esprentina NPF.  We are expecting two Schwarzie foals for 2012 and are hoping to host a Hanoverian Inspection on PEI next Fall.

Some thoughts for 2012 include a custom match-making option:  we have some very nice young mares and an abundance of breeding options for them  (Two stallions, several fresh semen contracts, and frozen semen).  Is there a particular cross you would be interested in?  Now is the time to contact us for more details.

All the best in the New Year and we look forward to seeing you at the farm.

A new addition to the breeding program for 2012: Esprentina NPF, a KWPN 2009 filly by the wonderful sire Sir Oldenburg and out of a super Florestan/Pilot dam.  Thanks to Ken Mellish for making this possible.  Lots of options for this tall, elegant mare.  We won't be planning a Schwarzie cross, considering he and Sir Oldenburg are 3/4 brothers.

Photo of "Tina" as a foal, and as a yearling below.

A reminder to breeders the discounted stud fee is available until February 1st, 2012.

December 3rd, 2011

Getting ready for over Winter construction on the farm-we are planning on putting in 4 foaling stalls (15 x 15) in the end of our big barn.  It will be nice to have the mares closer to the house especially during barn checks.  A new hydrant pump is going in this weekend in the stallion barn, so hopefully even the coldest spell will be unable to freeze the line.

We picked up our new to us trailer this week-hurray-will be hard to stay home.

We are all ready for the breeding season now.  Both Bonheur and Schwarzenegger are entered into two Stallion Service Auctions: Canadian Hanoverian Society and American Hanoverian Society.  Best of luck to the bidders.

For those thinking about youngsters...we will have our two Schwarzenegger foals available to the right homes next season.

November 20th, 2011

For those looking for video of Marina http://youtu.be/G6YnNgws09U

We are starting to think about the coming breeding season and are offering a special discount to the early birds.  Receive a 200$ discount off of Bonheur's or Schwarzenegger's stud fee (1,500 + gst) if paid in full by February 1st, 2012.

November 19th, 2011

Bonheur arrived safe and sound to our farm November 10th.  Big thank you to Dr. Susi Spicer for some incredible patience lol.  Customs and Fedex were not in the good books.  "Bo" has settled in perfect and is quite the character to have around.  We just love him here.  To have two so rideable, wonderful stallions on the farm is just a dream come true!  Here is some video of Schwarzie and Harma from the Ingrid Klimke Symposium http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J1uiSLpoYA

Harma Germs-Fraser with Schwarzenegger and myself and Bonheur.

November 6th, 2011

We are on our way back  from the Ingrid Klimkie symposium! Harma and Schwarzie were absolutely amazing!!! We were very happy with their performance. Thank you goes out to Jacob Germs (Harma's Dad) for helping so much too.

We, at Aileron Stables are very excited to announce the upcoming arrival of the elite Hanoverian Stallion BONHEUR!!!! He is set to arrive November 9th, 2011. A big thank you goes out to Sharon Garner, of Garner Creek Farms, for making this possible. We will be adding more information in the next little while.

October 26th, 2011

Here is a video of Schwarzie at a Cindy Ishoy clinic in NB with Harma.

We had a wonderful time at the Cindy Ishoy clinic in Saint John, NB this past weekend.  Schwarzie was excellent and he and Harma looked great.

October 9th, 2011

We are preparing for Winter here at the farm.  New Heron Blue steel roof went on the house on Saturday that looks quite sharp.  We were super happy to have it done.  Painting has wrapped up (thank god), and sights are set on finishing the firewood (torture).

We brought all the mares home from out at pasture this past week (it was chilly).  Was very glad to see all the young mares remembered what lunge work was and have started working with trotting poles and cavelettis.  Lantina has been a blast out on the trails and is quite enjoyable to ride, what a character.

Good news from both Allie's and Robin's new owners-they have both settled in well and are being enjoyed.  Great to hear!

The outdoor ring is working out super-had 3 loads of sand spread on it from Miller construction and has it ever made a difference for the horses.

And of course, the big fellow, Schwarzie is doing awesome-he is soo much fun.  This is us playing in a nearby field :)

Harma and he are doing some good work to get ready for the upcoming clinics.  He is enjoying a bug free Fall lol.  He had a fun visit from fellow Hanoverian breeder Shannon Lackey-who took him for a ride while over visiting the Island .

That is all for now-we are looking forward to meeting lots of new friends at the upcoming clinics :)

September 30th, 2011

Looks like two foals for us for next year!  Both Lantina and Atlanta are confirmed in-foal for August 2012 to Schwarzenegger.

Here is a link to a Schwarzenegger son that was imported to the US-he had scores of 76% at second level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCRg8b9l_pw&feature=player_embedded

September 21st, 2011

Schwarzenegger will be attending two clinics this Fall.

1) Cindy Ishoy clinic in Saint John Oct 22nd-23rd.

2) Ingrid Klimke Symposium in Truro Nov 5th-6th.

For those interested in auditing this symposium http://www.novascotiadressage.com/ingrid-klimke-symposium.html

A big thanks to Harma Germs-Fraser of Island Wide Equestrian for riding "Schwarzie" for us in these clinics.

September 10th, 2011

Free Verse Alleluia (aka Allie) has sold to a great home in NS.  Lots of good wishes for the years to come.

Lantina is confirmed in-foal to SCHWARZENEGGER for an August 2012 foal.

September 7th, 2011

What gorgeous weather we have been having! Schwarzie and I have been taking advantage of it by hitting the roads and trails with the good company of Kelly and Jane.

For those interested in seeing Schwarzie doing some undersaddle work there will be a couple of opportunities this Fall around the Maritimes...TBA

August 17th, 2011

Congratulations to Marlene Snyder of NS, on her new purchase, Round Robin!!!  Everything went fantastic, and Nick and I couldn't be happier with his new home.  We just got word that they made it home safe and sound.  All the best in the future and we look forward to lots of updates.

August 3rd, 2011

Quarantine is over!!!  Schwarzenegger has cleared all the requirements and is ready for visitors.   Nick and I would love to welcome you to our farm: so when are you coming?

July 22nd,

Completed our last set of swabs on the 19th, so fingers crossed with no delays we will be finished August 2nd!  What a process but we are nearing the end of it.

Schwarzie showed his fertility with the preg check on one of the quarantine mare today-not one but two embryos.

July 8th, 2011

Schwarzie is working through his quarantine nicely. His first set of tests all came back negative, and he has bred the two quarantine mares live cover.  Now we are waiting for the mares to go through their part of the testing to complete the process.

He is amazing under saddle-so balanced-I felt like Cinderella when the Schleese fit him perfect.

June 19th, 2011

Schwarzie has finally arrived at Aileron Stables. True to his amazing character, he walked off the trailer and into the quarantine barn with ease and is settling in very nicely. We hope to have a few pictures in the next couple of day.

On a sadder note, with heavy hearts, we lost our little colt, Winntago, on Saturday.

June 13th, 2011

Allie delivered a wonderful chestnut colt yesterday at 9:15pm.  Everything is going well and he looks great but it was a little scary at first.  One foot + a nose was all that was showing; I was able to pull the other foot forward and the rest went smoothly.  His name is "Winntago".  The name had to start with a W with following the Hanoverian naming rule of naming the foal with the first letter of the sire's name.  Ie: Wolkentanz II's foals have W names.

We are all relieved Allie foaled before I left on the big trip to Toronto.  That will teach me for posting he will come on my birthday, altogether  11months and 12days or 347days-long enough when you are waiting.

We are very excited to bring the big guy home and can't wait to have him here on farm.

June 6th, 2011

Super photo of Wargana and Chloe jumping 3'.  Looking great guys, keep up the good work.

Allie has officially stalled-no foal yet.

My best friend Susi and I are heading out on our big adventure to go pick up Schwarzie on June 13th.  His flight comes into the Toronto aiport on June 16th.  Everything is ready here on our end and he is finished all of the testing in Germany.  So fingers crossed for safe travels and we look forward to having him here on our farm shortly.

May 29th, 2011

Schwarzie is doing well in quarantine with Klatte in Germany, they sent us some nice photos of him.

Allie is stealing a fair amount of sleep from Nick and I, she is ready to foal but taking her time!  She is bred to Wolkentanz II and is looking huge :)

We bred Lantina and Atlanta a day apart last week, so fingers crossed for next year.  It was funny to have made all the arrangements for the mares before I went away and then have our stallion coming home 4 months earlier than planned.  Big thanks to Dr. Barbara Schmidt for letting us defer a breeding until 2012, this way we will breed Allie to Schwarzenegger!

May 17th, 2011

The sale of Schwarzenegger to Canada made the breeder's forum news list.

May 16th, 2011

The Windelers sent us some photos of "Schwarzie" as he left his home farm to start the German quarantine period.

Here is  a video to see some movement.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Unn3YepVMI4

May 13th, 2011

Exciting news for Aileron Stables!  Nick and I have purchased an approved Hanoverian stallion from Verden, Germany.  His name is SCHWARZENEGGER (Sion/Calypso II/Graphit/Gottard) and he has competed successfully at Intermedaire I in dressage.  We expect him to arrive here at our farm the first week of June.  He will be available to breeders in July after finishing his quarantine period here in PEI.

Here is a short clip and the listing from his home farm with the Windeler's.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9blpbAk1BlM

http://www.hanoverian-breeding-windeler.de/schwarzenegger.html

Also exciting is the list of stallions that will be available with frozen semen.

Benetton Dream, Royal Classic, Licosto, Lord Laurie, Mandingo, Cashman, Hendrix, Falsterbo, and Hofrat!

Many thanks to Axel and Martina Windeler and Jens and Susanne Meyer for helping to bring this all together.

May 4th, 2011

Robin continues to be ridden consistently and is showing excellent progress.

We have decided not to have a consigned tack sale this spring, with many irons in the fire, we found ourselves just too busy this spring for the sale.

Lantina was just started recently under saddle! She is proving very easy to work with and has an excellent ability to learn quickly.

April 17th, 2011

A new video is available for Robin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jCL1YhpVAk

We recently moved him to a bigger indoor arena and he is in consistent work.

Allie is looking very round, the countdown is on.

We had a wonderful potluck get together here at the farm on Saturday, very fun to have so many horse people in one spot.  Thanks to everyone that could make it and we look forward to seeing the others that couldn't in the near future.

April 1st, 2011

Arrived home safely at 3am this morning, long trip but well worth it.  I would recommend a visit like this to anyone interested in seeing how things are done in another country, very informative and have lots of ideas I am excited to try here.   A big THANK YOU to Hengststation Jens Meyer for their wonderful hospitality and for answering all of my many questions. (and there were a few).  The fantastic staff (that do a wonderful job and have great attention to detail) were so welcoming it was hard to come home.

What a great learning opportunity that I will look back on often and remember fondly.

Of Course, an equally big thank you to my wonderful fiance Nick, because without him this trip would not have been possible-so nice to leave home and not have to worry about the horses.

March 28th, 2011

There will be two more Hanoverian stallions available via frozen semen (and possibly another with fresh....) for Canada this breeding season.  Benetton Dream and Royal Classic.  Please check out the site below.

http://www.hanoverian-breeding-windeler.de/stallions.html

I am very excited to be able to offer these two classy stallions.  What is neat is to see them at the stallion shows and then go in their boxes at home with them.  Very nice characters.  They have alot to offer to our breeders with their unique bloodlines and fantastic performance in both the breeding shed and the dressage arena.

More information will be posted on their particulars in the near future.

March 27th, 2011

Another busy week that was well enjoyed.   Went to a stallion show in Wildeshausen yesterday evening with Hampton and Rob Roy.   They showed very well and really stood out for their super level heads  and relaxed gaits.  Very small show and only maybe 300 people but what a treat, out comes Eurocommerce Berlin a super jumper that has more than proven himself in the ring.

Today we drove out to Landegestüt Prussendorf which is a big breeding and testing station for stallions.  Really big complex with three indoor arenas, and alot of history.  The yard is all the old cobblestone and what a neat feeling walking around.

Working more in the lab and have collected a stallion.  I have been shadowing the veterinarian around the farm and in the insemination station and of course harassing him with lots of questions.  Very knowledgeable.

I will have to start to pack soon, I fly out on Thursday morning at 11am and arrive back in Canada at 11pm.

March 21st, 2011

First day of Spring and does it every look like it here. (Flowers everwhere!)

New filly arrived on Friday at 7pm (very respectable time-have to love those) by Jens' stallion Lord Laurie.  Very very nicely put together and promising movement.

Enjoying the 3pm cake and coffee on Sundays, German desserts, wonderful!!!

Out and about on Sunday to see foals and some country.  Super Fairbanks colt that was so uphill, quite the mover and shaker.  Was over to the harbour, which is 2-3kms from my apartment.  This is the North Sea, great view and very orientated towards tourists.  Went through some small towns with little side streets that have horses hidden in the nooks and crannies.  This was really neat, to meet the breeders that have 1 or 2 mares that put so much thought into the pairing of their mare.  Saw a super mare by Weltruhm (Weltmeyer) and it was neat to hear the  breeder explain that at 1 and 2 years old this mare was nothing but she had patience and waited for her to mature and she is an overall 8 States Premium mare now.

Really sinking in how tried and true for stallions are so important.  Cannot emphasize enough to look at what the horses are doing and what they are learning-then look at what they produce.  This was a big eye opener for me.  The flavour breeding is overrated.  Another good thought I will hang onto-breeding a horse not a piece of paper.

March 13th, 2011

Lots of fun stuff this week.  I learned how to make  semen extender, in a very tidy, efficient, and mass production kind of way.  Quite a few varieties available for stallion owners depending on the quality of the semen and cost.  Working more in the lab now, getting an idea of how to evaluate semen and comfortable with the preparation process.

I learned how to lunge horses with a double lunge.  Very neat, this will be something I will be doing at home quite often I believe.  I loved it.  So much more control and can give to the horse.  Was able to do changes of direction through the trot-(some very kind horses lol).  I had a chance to ride one of the mares, very nice.  The horses are all ridden in a forward manner and on the bit is second nature.

No stallion show this weekend, so I am well rested and looking forward to another day on the farm!

The next  foal is due in 10 days so I am enjoying checking up on the mare a couple of times a day to make sure there is no sneaky business :)

March 4th, 2011

Stallion show in Timmel, this time with Rob Roy, First Danse, Hendrix, and Lord Laurie.  This was a huge horse specific community complex that had everything.  The layout of the complex was always with the horse in mind and did it ever show, very nice.

I have been traveling around some seeing foals and stallions, so neat and very welcoming breeders.  The hospitality has been wonderful and I love going over the pedigrees with the breeders and seeing what they are aiming to improve with their mares.

March 2nd, 2011

Stallion Presentation in Dorum of some of the Celle stallions.  This was interesting as Celle has a main stable for over wintering and then every breeding season they disperse the stallions to their different stations.  There were 10 stallions at this presentation and two foals.  Some of the stallions: Figari, Inliner, Chivas, Quadam, Bonne Chance, Estobar, Don Index, Furst Nymphenburg, and Quarterhall.  My favorites were Don Index and Quarterhall.

Feb 26th, 2011

Der Nacht Die Hengst, which translates to The Night of the Stallion.  This was a new show that was a huge success.  With over 60 stallions and many venders in the big downtown complex it was quite an evening.  The show started around 9pm, and we were home by 3am.  This time we took Damsey, Hampton, Devereux, and Licosto.   I am learning lots!

Feb 20th, 2011

Long day but such fun!  We just finished up with the stallion show in Vechta (Oldenburg Hall) where we took six of the stallions down to be shown undersaddle. Lord Laurie, Licosto, Hampton, First Danse, Fairbanks, and Damsey.
Really really neat to be working behind the scenes at one of these shows.  In the next stall beside us was Bretton Woods, a super interesting young fellow.  A little further down Rohdiamont is on the cross ties getting braided. (I had to go take a picture, below)

The show went smoothly and as soon as it finished a flood of people came down to the barn to see the stallions in their stalls and to chat.  Such a different atmosphere, it was wonderful and very fun.  Damsey, one of the stallions owned by the Leatherdales and standing at Jens Meyer's did a display at the end where Steffan Fraham (the rider) had a lesson with his coach (Johnny Hilberath).   Really nice horse with a super attitude and great gaits.
My highlight of the show was standing in the middle of the ring at the end when all the grooms from the different farms were called in and the stallions were cantering around.  Being a part of jump crew was entertaining too :) Most of the music over here is in English and super upbeat with great tempos for the horses, they really seem to pick up on it.

Feb 12th, 2011

Today the Trakehner show in Münster (Westphalain Hall)!  The drive down took about 3 hours in the lorry with Herzendieb, a Trakehner stallion owned by the Leatherdales and who stands at stud at Hengststation Jens Meyer.  Probably the most efficient showing I have ever seen, he was unloaded,  warmed up, shown, packed back up, and we were on the road again.
I took in some of the show but for me maybe not quite as interesting as the shows where I know the bloodlines and am familiar with the stallions.  I found in general alot of meltdowns with the applause, though Herzendieb handled it well.
A jumper that was super popular was Hirtentanz.

My German is slowly improving, and I am learning more releveant horse related words lol.  Funny thing I have noticed, I have yet to see a half-ton truck.  Alot of the tag along trailers are pulled by cars, and most horses are hauled in lorries.

February 5th, 2011

It has been a whirlwind!  I arrived safely in Bremen (Northen Germany) on Feb 1st around 11am.  From the airport I had to grab a bus and find my way to the train station.  Two trains, a taxi ride, and 3 hours later I arrived at my destination: Hengststation Jens Meyer in Dorum.  I have a cozy apartment about 1km from the farm which is great as I can easily walk to work.  The farm has roughly 75 horses on property, which keeps four riders riding about 10 horses a day busy and the rest are younsters or broodmares.  Some really interesting stallions here with diverse pedigrees, strong dam lines, and lots of performance.

A typical day:

At farm by 7:00am-mucking and feeding
8:30 am Group breakfast and discussion of plan for the day
9:00am start tacking up stallions for one of the trainers
12:00 Lunch
1:00pm work in the frozen semen lab
3:00pm Help out in stallion barn
6:00 Walk home and read more pedigrees and study German.

I attended the Schau Hannoveraner Privathengste in Verden today-really really neat"
Two youngsters that I quite liked were Belstaff (Han) and Le Rouge (Trak). Of the older ones Rassolini, Hotline, Fiorano, and Contendro I were all impressive.

January 16th, 2011

"My bags are packed and I'm ready to go..." getting excited for the big trip.  I am flying out on January 31st and will be back March 31st to get ready for the breeding season.  We are breeding the three mares this season so fingers crossed for three foals in 2012.

Robin is being ridden by Harma Germs and is looking great.  He seems to love the work and is quite focused.  Thanks Harma for the great work!  Harma will continue to ride him here at the farm while I am away.

We free jumped Lantina and WOW!  It was a "I wish I had a camera moment".   She has so much power from the hindend and so scopey.  It is hard to explain, I promise a video next time, she could jump from a standstill and yet had tons of clearance.  What it reminded me of was watching the videos of Landkonig jumping and thanking god for hereditary traits.

December 17th, 2010

I recently heard back from Germany, I will be going to Jens Meyer's Stallion Station in Dorum for February and March.  I am sooo excited!  http://www.jens-meyer.com/  A big thank you to Dr. Barbara Schmidt for helping make this possible.  Visit her great site at http://www.bridlewoodhanoverians.com

The breeding plans for the Spring are:

Allie to Fabuleux

Lantina to Dacaprio

Atlanta to Rubignon

Info on Fabuleux and Dacaprio can be found on http://www.bridlewoodhanoverians.com and Rubignon can be found on http://www.rainbowequus.com/stallions.htm

December 12th, 2010

I hope everyone is ready for Christmas as it is fast approaching.  Happy Holidays to everyone!

Robin is now a gelding and has returned to work.  Allie is slowly going through the billet holes as she gets further along in her pregnancy.  I will stop riding her shortly and focus more time on Lantina.

November 8th, 2010

So it looks like more than the leaves are changing.  I sat down and looked at where the farm is going and have decided to geld and sell Round Robin (aka Robin).  My goal for the winter is to go to a German breeding farm to soak up as much as I can learn and to keep an eye out for an older approved stallion to bring back to Atlantic Canada.

Nick and I are also in the market for a farm property in Nova Scotia.  If anyone knows of one available or that may be coming available, please contact us.   We are looking for something with an indoor area (or could be turned into an indoor) at least 10 acres and a house on the property.

October 4th, 2010

Had a great time down in the States but glad to get back to work with the horses.

Robin is going well under saddle and has worked up to 30kms on the trails.  Allie is back under saddle, and Lantina has started work on the lunge tacked up.  The two yearlings lead well and have been exposed to lots of scary stuff (tarps/noise makers) and are well adjusted to walking up and down the road with traffic.

The goal for next summer is to have Robin ready for Training Level work and Lantina for Walk/Trot.

ps For those of you that are watching the WEG online, keep an eye out for Denis Lynch of Ireland in the Jumping.  He is riding the Hanoverian gelding named Lantinus.  Lantinus and Lantina are by the same sire Landkoenig.

September 23rd, 2010

Nick and I are excited to be visiting Bridlewood Farm in Kentucky.  What a great chance to see some nice horses then run over to the Horse Park in Lexington to take in some of the dressage team Grand Prixs on Monday.  Can't wait!!!!

The horses at home are all doing well thanks to great farm sitters, thanks Kim and Ilsa, greatly appreciated.

July 30th, 2010

Marina is growing well and is starting to look like she may be a big girl.  She is very rump high at the moment measuring 15hh at the  rump and 14.2hh at the withers.

Allie is confirmed in-foal to Wolkentanz II.  This foal will be registered with the Hanoverian Verband.

July 7th, 2010

We have moved our four younsters over to a neighboring farm to put them out to pasture for the summer.  They are growing well and looking great.

Wargana is doing great with her new owner Chloe.  They have gone to two shows together and are pictured above.  She and Chloe placed 1st over crossrails and 3rd over 2'3''. They got 5th and 6th place ribbons in their flat classes.

We are no longer accepting bookings to Robin.  He and I have been enjoying some great hacks through the heritage roads with our boarders Kim and Ilsa on their mares.

We have one space available for boarding, feel free to contact if interested.  Several options available.

May 10th, 2010

Our next tack sale is fast approaching.  It will be held on Saturday, May 22nd from 10am-2pm.  Consignments are encouraged and welcomed!!! Items can be dropped off after 6pm on May 14th, and all day on May 15th.

Robin had a great semen evaluation done at the vet college this Spring.  At 1 hour post collecting he had 75% normal motile sperm, at 24 hours he had 60%, and at 42 hours he had 50%.  The evaluator said it was a fantastic sample.  We have been collecting Robin on a regular basis and his first shipments went out to NB last week.  Shipping by bus has allowed us to deliver semen in the Maritimes within 7 hours of collection!

If you are interested in breeding to Robin, don't hesitate to touch base with us, we are happy to answer your questions and visits are always welcome.

April 19th, 2010

I am very haappy to announce that Wargana has sold to a great family in Moncton, NB.  Best of luck Chloe and I hope to see you at the shows.

March 16th, 2010

Jack was gelded this afternoon.  He is developing into a very handsome boy and I look forward to starting him next spring.

March 10th, 2010

Jack is going to be gelded before the end of March unless otherwise sold.

March 1st, 2010

The breeding season is winding up.   At this point we are taking note of the mares' cycles and getting Robin ready for standing at stud.    Robin's first shipments will be going out in April.  We are highly looking forward to working with mare owners and getting those mares in foal.

January 21st, 2010

For anyone interested in mare care and reproductive work:  Dr. Mike Slana of Montague Vet Clinic is offering mare care and a package reproductive work deal out of his farm (10 minutes from our farm). Mare care is 220 per month, and ultrasounds/insemination/and a preg check are 220 per cycle.

For mare owners where it might be difficult to meet the veterinarian or to pick up semen this may be a very handy option.

January 15th, 2010

Happy New Year to everyone!

Wargana has settled in well at Cindy's and is being a great girl.  She is super quiet and takes well to new things,  a couple repetitions and she has caught on.  There is a new youtube video of her on the for sale page.

There is a DVD available for Robin, so anyone interested feel free to contact me at hanselpacker@hotmail.com.  Robin has been enjoying some great visits from mare owners interested in breeding.

The indoor arena is slowly being reverted back into use, we are putting up new side walls and are looking forward to having it back at full size.

Tentative breeding decisions for next year, Allie (the Trakehner mare approved for Hanoverian breeding) with be bred to Robin, and Wargana if she has not been sold will be bred to either Robin or Rubignon (a GP dressage stallion that is closely related to Robin but approved for Hanoverian breeding).

Hope everyone is doing well.

December 5th, 2009

A video of Robin was just posted on his page.  Many thanks to Ken Mellish of New Perth Farms for putting it all together.

December 2nd, 2009

Lugana has been sold to a local equine Veterinarian, congratulations Dr. Slana and best of luck with breeding her to Robin in the Spring.

Wargana will be moving to Tea Hill Stables for the Winter months.  Tea Hill Stables is owned and operated by FEI rider Cindy Matheson.  I will be riding her 5-6 times per week for 3 months and then have Cindy put a month of training on her.

The two 2009 fillies Marina and Atlanta have adjusted well to being weaned and are enjoying basic handling and being fussed over.   Have they ever grown, I expect both fillies to reach at least 16hh, but Marina looks like she might end up 16.2hh+.   They both look like plush toys at this point with their super coats.

Our next Consignment Tack Sale is being planned for May 22nd, 2010.

Hope everyone is enjoying getting ready for Christmas.

October 11th, 2009

What an eventful weekend!  The tack sale was well attended by souls that braved the rain.  Many thanks to both the sellers and buyers for making this sale successful.  There was a wide variety of tack to browse over and some real bargains.

The Hanoverian Inspector was down to brand Atlanta today, and what a good girl she was.  She trotted out well and later took some great photos over a little fence, which will be posted shortly.

Hope everyone is ready for thanksgiving

Atlanta will be inspected and branded by the Hanoverian inspector on October 11th and then the weaning will begin.  Both fillies will be over 4 and 1/2 months old and will be ready to be separated from their dams.

September 7th, 2009

This summer has definitly been interesting.  Our older mare Lugana reabsorbed her pregnancy to Robin at 40 days.  Wargana and Allie have both been bred late and will be preg checked in the next couple of weeks.  Wargana was bred to Robin and Allie to Landkonig.  The two fillies are growing great and have shed out quite dark, they are a joy out in the field and alot of fun to watch.

Robin has been started under saddle and is coming along well with the basics.  Wargana has been put back into work and has been popping over a few crossrails with much amusement.

We will be having a consigned tack sale here at the farm on Saturday, October 10th at 10am until 2pm.  All horse items are welcome to be entered in the sale.  Please email me at hanselpacker@hotmail.com with your entries and I will send the specifics of the sale back to you.  Thats all for now, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Lu foaled at 10pm on May 24th, having a tall and leggy bay filly.  She is super sweet with a crooked blaze and one rear sock.  Check out the foals' page for pictures.

May 6th, 2009

FINALLY!  Wargana had a beautiful black filly last night.  She has a backwards C on her forehead and a half cannon sock on her right rear.  Super sharp.

Lu is due and ready to foal, so cross you fingers.

April 29th, 2009:

Wargana is determined to keep us sleepless.  Her 11 months were up on the 23rd, and she has looked ready for the last week.  Lugana is catching up to her, she has some udder development and is dropped away around the tailhead.  Murphy's Law-they will probably foal on the same day.

D'Jannon aka Shannon was euthanized on April 9th, due to lameness and age.  RIP and thank you for a wonderful filly.  Many thanks go out to her former owners for their helpful information.

Breeding to Robin: As live cover will be cheaper for mare owners and we have not had any difficulties with it so far, Live cover will be an available option.  Also the mare care fee for mares kept outside with access to a large run in will now be 175, instead of 240.

March 24th, 2009:

Hans and I had an adventure on the 20th, we rode to a friend's indoor arena where some friends tried Hans.  Total distance 17kms.  We had a great morning and Hans was well behaved for the most part.  Thanks again Kelly for letting us use your indoor.

Wargana is looking quite big, and she is starting to get some udder development/edema.  Only 4 more weeks to go. Yeah!  Lugana is right behind her with a May 10th due date.

The weanlings video was added to the Foal page last month.

February 22nd, 2009:

There is now a short video of Robin on the lunge posted on his page.  His first outside breeding arrives within the next two weeks, a lovely Thrbd mare.

A little over 8 weeks to go before Wargana foals.  (If she is on time lol).  She is huge!

A short video of the weanlings will be posted on the foals' page within the next day or so.

December 28th,  2008:

The year is winding down but the excitment for the coming Spring is building. Wargana is due to foal around the 25th of April, and Lugana is right behind her with a May 10th due date.  Believe it or not I am counting down the weeks.

Plans for this Spring are as follows: Shannon, Lugana, and Allie will be bred to Robin and Wargana will be bred to Landkonig.
